On the following shooting splits...

48.4% 2 PT FG (9.1 att/g)
38.5% 3 PT FG (6.5 att/g)
79.3% FT (2.4 att/g)

None of those numbers look unsustainable. It's not like any of those percentages are freakishly high, so I could see Edwards continuing to play at this level for the rest of the season.

The x-factor is Towns presence. It's much easier for Ant to get to the rim playing with Towns. That wasn't a luxury he had during the majority of the season. I could see these numbers ticking up as a result. Is that a positive or a minus that Towns presence helps a young wing? I don't see it as a minus. I think most good players play with other good players who help open things up for them.

Feel like Edwards was always gonna have to be a long-term play. He's got all the athleticism in the world, but the rest has to be developed. Good to see him doing well.

Not so much play style, but the rawness reminds me of Jaylen Brown. Super athletic, tons of potential, but just needs to refine it all. I think a big thing that probably goes underestimated is not being on a winning basketball team and learning how to play on one. I think a lot of guys on teams that get drafted early and naturally end up on bad teams get the luxury of a ton of playing time, but it doesn't come with the best setup to succeed and some end up struggling because of it.

Just said on the W's board: he's like a well-built, young Monta Ellis.

And before people think that's a slam, keep in mind that young Monta distributed more, and was a more efficient scorer. When he became Head Leader, he thought his **** didnt stink and barely tried to distribute or play defense.. Minny has the chance to turn that kind of talent into a legit star.

Also people need to stop worrying about assist totals so much.. there have been games where he passed well and got 1 assist, and games where he just moved the ball in the flow and got 4+. Its not a good barometer for evaluating his willingness to pass and ability to create.

Corey Maggette had a few seasons at 3 assists per game.

Just watch the player.. he absolutely has the ability, and I think with DLo out he'll feel more responsibility to use the vision/playmaking than when DLo was on court. Not sure what MIN's overall plan is there, but I dont see a successful future with both of them on the roster.

I actually disagree. I think having Edwards can help Russell's game and vice versa.

How so? Just by them both deferring more often and being both on/off ball so kinda forcing them both to develop those sides better?

I don't think it's an obvious combination, but I also don't see it being oil and water either.

The only thing people were seriously concerned about with Edwards pre draft was his motor. So far, it looks like that's not a worry and to be honest maybe those "concerns" were overblown.

He’s an average player on the worst team in the NBA. He’s just a guy Don’t put any stock and in phony numbers on really bad basketball teams.

Better players are usually elevated when playing with better players. One of them will be guarded by a weaker defender.

It takes a special breed to elevate a collection of crap to great things. Edwards and Russell aren't that, and that's fine. I think they need to be surrounded by better players. Maybe because it reins them in somewhat, I don't know.

18/5/3.5 on 44/36/78 (1.1 TO) over the past few weeks since being inserted into the starting lineup. Those are extremely promising numbers for a 19 year old rookie. I've only seen a handful of Minny games, but he has been passing the eye test for me more often than not. No players in this draft were seen as cornerstones, but he's going to have a successful NBA career if he chooses to (only say that due to his own comments). He's extremely talented.

I’m the OP here, and I will give the man props for making the shots he actually makes on these 3-14 shooting nights exciting as hell.

His ceiling is so high. He's the same age as the majority of the top ten fr. prospects in the class. He's starting to produce the same numbers in the league as these guys are doing in college.

His body is still growing and developing. Once his maturity starts to even approach his physical talent, I think we have a future top 3 sg in the league.

For all the concerns about him not loving basketball he seems to genuinely be having a good time out there. Big smiles after his dunk last night and three I'm lebron's face. I also liked how he was in awe after facing chef curry.

He love for the game could impact his desire to work on his game in the summer. But as far as on the court he seems happy.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Well, if there's one thing certain is that this dude has the athletic ability to dominate. I think he might be a more explosive version of Donovan Mitchell, and that says a lot, because Mitchell is pretty damn explosive.
