You're still wondering this, why oh why?

Haven't you read enough stories about the Beal and Wall dynamic by now?

Based on everything you have seen and heard from Beal at this point, do you honestly believe he would go from talking to Wall all off-season about running it back together to stabbing the man straight into his back?

After repeatedly mentioning how meaningful loyalty is to him and honoring his commitment to the Wizards publicly any chance he gets, you think he's putting on a show?

Wall mentioning a tear filled goodbye with Beal, you think that Beal pushed for his ouster?

Come on man, we know who the trigger man is.

Im still not convinced that this trade is a complete disaster. Russ needs to cut down on the long 2's and a few WTF's, but the tactics & decision making of this entire team is a hot mess with Brooks at the helm. Just look at a guy like Demar Derozan with Pop. A real coach can lean on these players strengths.

Physically, Im happier with Russ than I was a month ago. He seems to get the rim and convert quite well. His FG% at 0-3 & 3-10 feet are both at career highs, his FTr is the same as the previous 2 years, and his 3% of 31-32% is tolerable for 1-2 attempts a game to keep defenders honest.
If he can get his FT% up to his career average and take a few less long 2's (And shots overall), then I see no reason he cant have a TS in the 52-53% range, have a 2:1 Ast:Tov ratio, and grab 8-9 rebounds a game.
Hell, just having his FT% at his career average would make his TS 50% right now. Even with the poor shot selection.

Its far from Max worthy, but its a net positive and a movable deal at some point.

I mean, we only have 2 years at $96M or so left after this season is done. It is what it is at this point. We'll have to find our PG of the future in the draft or when we have cap space in 2023...

I have a feeling zach leonsis has way more say on the team's decisions than we think.

Yeah I'm thinking he pulled the trigger. Covered it up with all the stuff you mentioned to the point wall even believed it. It's just sus. And they way his frustration is manifesting no where near westbrook or the front office. If he didn't have a hand at all in it I could see him pointing the finger at both but no he's just mad they are loosing. I don't know how many more games with wall they would actually be winning but. I will say I think beal knew more than he lets on .

Each time Russ shoots from further than two feet with more than 5 seconds on the shot clock I’d cut off one of his fingers.

By the time he’s lost four or so he might stop jacking.

Harsh, but those no pass possessions that end up with a Westbrook jumper early in the shot clock are infuriating.

YOU'RE NOT A SHOOTER BRODIE , wtf, how has he not learned that yet?

As long as Wall was here, it was always going to be Wall's team. The passing of the torch moment would never happen. I can understand why Sheppard made the move. At best Beal would have been 1a to Wall's 1b and now he's the face of the franchise.

I’ll be that guy. Today Wall had 15 points&7 assists on 14 shots, -29 in a 20 point loss to the Bulls. That’s now 5 out of his last 7 games shooting <30%.

I’m not going to be drawn into rooting against Wall to fail. He gave a lot for Washington and I hope he can truely get back to having some success.

I’m not rooting against Wall. I’m evaluating the trade. People were quick to point out/post whenever Wall was making shots early in the season, and quick to criticize Westbrook for his struggles. Now Houston is a total mess, Wall has been awful for the last 5-10 games.

Westbrook is slowly (emphasis on slowly) creeping back towards decent numbers. The wizards are playing great defense and looking like a playoff team. Things look a lot different now.

Everyone was so quick to draw conclusions about the deal after 20 games. I’m simply pointing out the recent trend.

With Oladipo and Wood out, he's playing on an awful team and really doesn't have a chance.

A team with Wall as the best player isn't going to go very far, something I wished the Wizards would have realized much earlier in his career.

The Rockets are ass with all of the injuries they have, and some of the key vets on that team (Gordon, Tucker) are probably quietly hoping to get moved.

(I don't recall Houston saying Westbrook was washed up, but I won't let that get in the way of a good story.)

Russ is definitely healthy now and has his old explosive bursts back. The only thing he doesn't have is his old great leaping ability. He can still jump well, but he used to be amazing.

Thing is, once he loses a step, he's probably done - we already saw that. Still, it's a ton of fun watching him play well now.
