Lopez has been effective even if not aesthetically pleasing.

I’m not sure if they will get the opportunities, but it’s worth pointing out that Yoeli Childs&Cassius Winston have been really good in the G league. Not just empty numbers good, huge positive impact good.
Good sign when the organization begins to find productive players that cost them little to nothing, like Bonga, Wagner, Mathews, and now possibly Winston&Childs.

Another west playoff team victimized.
Strange that Wagner and Matthews are starting during this run. They were collecting DNPs not long ago.

Some more numbers since Feb 3:
9th best record in the NBA
2nd in free throw attempts
4th in rebounding
9th in defensive rating
1st in pace
We didn’t really get everyone back healthy until that wild Nets game on 1/31. Since that point we are 8-5 with the 17th ranked defense. Doesn’t seem like a fluke.

Amen bro. Let’ hope the squad remains healthy and we can continue this good run.
Whatever the case, Brooks finally realized the right 9-10 men rotation. Nothing against Ish Smith specifically but his injury means Brooks can not play midget ball any more, which together with Matthews being in the rotation helps!

Did anyone else yell at their TV in the 4th quarter: "No! Don't put in Westbrook. Neto's playing great."

I initially had the same reaction...but then I said Russ is playing well...and down stretch the Zards will need his ability to get to the hoop for easy baskets.

Westbrook has been playing out of his mind lately so it was inevitable that Westbrook would go back in. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised that the Wizards played Deni down the stretch instead of Neto and the 3 guard lineup and it paid off.

You can count on them to bring energy and to be locked in from the jump.
I like that role for Wagner in particular because of how well he plays on the offensive end setting screens, cutting and just being a nuissance.
Unfortunately there aren't many defensive matchups that work in his favor.
Most nights he's either not strong enough or not long enough to play extended matchups agains the primary matchup.

Well, there's still Jerome Robinson, but he seems to have (finally) fallen out of favor.

He is definitely playing well. That said, steps or greater awareness needs
to be observed so that we do not want him shooting FTs in a close game
down the stretch.

I dunno. I don't see how we excel the entire season with this group of Cs. Feels like lightning in a bottle. I think they need at least one more big to make a serious push but having another all-pro to go with Beal feels nice.

Absolutely terrible move to pass the ball to Russ at that point. Brooks should have probably called a timeout and drawn up a play that ensured Beal got the ball.

Notice the lineup on the court in this clip:
I think we have another gear when we downshift and let Rui play the 5.

NatP4 wrote:Small shoutout to Brooks. He had a decent rotation tonight besides overplaying Lopez&playing Len at all. When he went with small ball, they dominated. I liked that he stuck with Bertans despite the lack of shot making, and allowed Deni to play in crunch time.
Also really liked the gameplan, they stuck to shooters and threw a variety of defenders at Lebron and basically forced him to beat them in isolation scoring.
I actually did not watch but I think Alex Len does need to play every game. Slice the playing minutes pie into as many pieces as possible.
Alex has tremendous ability and he has helped us in past games and will do so again in the future. I love the way Brooks is putting guys in for four minutes eight minutes etc.
Bye bye Beal.
