Today, Feb. 23, is the 10 day contract deadline.
Tomorrow, Feb. 24, is the deadline for a guaranteed contract.
Will G-league PG Jeremiah Martin replace PG Chris Chiozza on the Brooklyn Nets roster?

How about Myles Turner? Is he available?
If we do end up making Dinwiddie expendable (which I definitely hesitate on moving him), what about getting a guy like Turner? I remember him making a big name for himself in recent years but from what I gather he's having a down year. Maybe he'd fit in nicely in a rotation with DJ, and could be a long term player too.

Re: How would you fill out the roster?
Spencer and the MLE are the two last true rotation contracts. With those two I would like a designated defender and a paint protector.
That would be 7 guaranteed rotation players(Durant/Harden/Kyrie/Joe/DJ/Spencer Contract/MLE, which is multiyear)
Anyone else vet minimums or rookie scale contracts out performing their contracts. Also why the thought of extensions aren’t likely for role players if it isn’t on scale with rookie or vet minimums is nonsensical. I would think Shamet/Nic aren’t ideally up for trades this season as we have them on friendly contracts next season.
The DPE is unfortunate fruition. Which gives us another chance at a one year rotation piece.

It's OT, but how come every time I hear about the Pelicans or see them on TV, I can't NOT think of that scene in Scarface where Pacino is watching a show about Pelicans in the bubble-bath and saying: "C'mon Pelican!"

Prior to the season, Turner's valuable was (seemingly) very low with few teams interested but he's actually had really good season(for him) that recovered his trade value. It would be tough for the Nets to trade for him, since there will be lots of suitors now.

Sean Marks is playing shortstop with the free agent market, ready to scoop up any gems that other teams may cut. He's giving a free masterclass to the rest of the league in filling out the end of your bench. If no one big shakes loose, we still have 3 vets with experience that we can re-sign.

Re: How would you fill out the roster?
He's strong and has hops. Kind of reminds me a little of Jeff Green with better athleticism because he's younger and stronger. He's about the same size as Uncle Jeff I think. I don't know if he has a jumpshot tho but looks like he goes up strong and tries to dunk everything. Seems like a small ball 5 to me because he plays around the rim. Maybe he can switch on to defend smaller guys too. Also like the energy he brings. We'll see.

Re: How would you fill out the roster?
^^ thanks for sharing that highlight video. Never heard of the guy but sounds like it could be a great fit for us. Marks is really leaving no stone unturned until the buyout market happens... and hasn't made any Dinwiddie moves for big support so I like how he's working with minimal risk here.
Guy looks like he's got a great motor and bounce. I wonder if he'll be able to challenge anyone for minutes off the bench right away.

Re: How would you fill out the roster?
If I had to guess, I think our final piece is coming from a trade. Something like Dinwiddie + Shamet for a Big who's on a 2/3 year contract. Some rebuilding team gets an expiring contract (or a nice piece in Dinwiddie if he opts in) + a young shooter and clears cap the next year.
Not sure how much I believe in the buyout market. I would like McGee but he'll have some options out there.

Re: How would you fill out the roster?
We need a shotblocker. When DJ is either off the floor or playing lazy/poorly we go from solid defense to league worst pretty quick. if he missed time in the playoffs it could really cause some issues for us. We need another shot blocker. McGee or not we need a legit NBA player who can block some shots or provide some threat of it

Marks is basically just playing merry go around until the buyout market.
The market this year will be strong. I definitely see us getting a decent big man. Hopefully can pick up a wing player as well.
I actually did like what I see from Roberson but hes such a black hole offensively.

yeah but at least he looks good defensively. last we saw him he was a negative on both ends. he looks healthy. ideally he is only playing like 6-8 mpg situationally anyhow.
i still like shumpert better. i think he is better on both ends and just has a knack for being in the right spot

I like this signing a lot.
He was averaging 20/10, dominating the G-league, and I like his size (6' 8"/255) and athleticism.
Especially with some players nicked-up right now, this kid can help us off the bench.

Re: How would you fill out the roster?
So we're bringing back Shumpert and Roberson on 10 day deals,
and cut bait with Vonleh for Tyler Cook.
Smart move. IMO Cook is a definite upgrade over Vonleh.
I've read some tweets suggesting Cook was the best player in the G-league bubble this year.

I mean Vonleh didnt play so either way it works out. I cant say im farmiliar with cook. the highlights look good but highlights usually do. is he a jeff green type? A Brown type? RHJ? is he a big guard? a small big?

He doesn't seem like much of a shot blocker so I'm not sure how he helps.

Re: How would you fill out the roster?
Funny to think, but if Bruce Brown was like 5 inches taller, our roster would be pretty much perfect. He would fill that tall wing defender and even the PF we need.
