Schroder for Whiteside, Joseph and Woodard.

Totally thats why my question with the thread was what?

They literally don't have any tradeable pieces. If the offer is a 2023 2nd + cash, I have to figure some center needy team can not only beat that but that the Kings would prefer to ship him elsewhere.

Literally the only thing they would trade and that Id want is THT, but I can't imagine Lakers want to move him. GRIII + Whiteside for THT? Still the THT hype is insane with my Lakers friends, no idea how the front office actually feels about him.

I think 2023 SRP + cash is enough. I can't imagine any other team wanting Whiteside enough for an SRP.

If they want more.than an SRP then it won't happen. The negotiation would be what year the Lakers give the SRP.

The thing is the Lakers already owe the next 2 srps. And even if we get their 2023 its likely bottom of the barrel. Id have to imagine a team like Portland whose got injury questions with Nurkic, Bucks who lack depth, Raptors who could use a center, the Nets.

You don't think any one of those teams offers up a 2nd rounder? Id be more inclined to help them, and likely get the 2nd now as opposed to 2 or 3 years from now.

Tempting but no. Id do this if we swapped Woodard for GRIII though.

Other team could but then Lakers would just miss out. I don't see a bidding war for Whiteside. Lakers would just pick up another 2nd or 3rd string C with an SRP

Likely, and thats totally fair. I just am in no rush to help the Lakers repeat :noway: (even if Whiteside isn't some huge get)

Yeah, speaking as a fan of the team that paid the lakers' last starting centre's salary all of last season:

be the team that doesn't just roll over for them. Some day you'll be the fielding a contender and the lakers will beat you with guys other teams gave them for free.

Our teams should be better than that, and better than the 55th pick in 2023, when the lakers will be good again because someone gave them a bunch of rotation players for free.
