Hard pass. Claxton is younger, BETTER, healthier, hungrier, and less of a diva. Clax/DJ/Kd/Green/Brown are more than good enough to cover the front court rotation

No one is trading for him and his absurd contract. Griffin has turned onto a spot up shooter that cannot shoot well.

dont think his deal was moveable but that large of a buyout definitely sets a tone around the league in the trade and buyout market

Maybe go to Portland and have Dame run the asylum on injured revival projects

There is no role for him in Portland. He has some nice playmaking, but he isnt efficient enough scoring to justify the usage needed for him to use those playmaking skills. And he does nothing on defense.

Melo is a much better option at this point. He can at least create for himself decently and, most importantly, is a really nice 3PT shooter (1.8 - 4.6 39%)

With Nurkić, Collins, and Giles all out, that's probably Blake's best option to actually get minutes on a playoff team. Just imagine a Carmelo Anthony/Blake Griffin super-team filled out with some scrubs from Weber State and Lehigh.

My money is him riding out the season as a bench player on the Clippers.

He's going to sign with the Lakers, contender and they need frontcourt help with Davis out.

Blake can't defend, rebound, or shoot. Why would any contender want him?

I keep reading this, how is blake a diva? He was done dirty by the clippers and he never once complained about being on a terrible Pistons team and had an extremely good response to the trade.

Not sure how you've come to that conclusion, particularly when we haven't even seen the terms of the buyout.

Detroit is transitioning into a rebuild and Blake was blocking minutes/touches for the younger players and clearly wanted to play elsewhere. Given he wouldn't have been able to be traded without including young players/picks (which a rebuilding team shouldn't do), a buyout was best for both parties.

This doesn’t do anything to get TJ or Shamet, Robes or TLC off the floor, which is the only way a buyout makes us better

I’d be surprised if he goes to the clippers. As a matter of fact, I would lose any little respect that I have left for him.

Depth is depth and the Nets need anybody they can get, but i worry theyre gonna have the same Allen-Jordan dynamic with the coaching staff where there will be times were Claxton's energy and youth is a + but they give those minutes to the vet Griffin instead. Few teams (coaching staffs) are capable of doing what the Lakers did last year completely benching their vets when they werent producing or werent fit for the matchup

That says more about the state of Blake’s game then it does the contenders too.

I do get why he’d choose Brooklyn though, they don’t have great depth and he probably sees a lot of PF minutes available. And with Brooklyn throwing darts at Vonleh, Shumpert and Roberson it’s not like Blake is worse than any of them. But sadly, Jeff Green is likely the better player at this point.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

If we sign Blake he probably has to play C. Jordan moves to backup.

KD might have to go back to playing the 3 so we can keep Claxton's minutes.
