I just don't see anyone paying that much. His contract is too pricey.

Kings should call up the Timberwolves and see if they want to swap Jarrett Culver for Bagley.

I will never understand why Vlade, a guy entrenched in the euro scene, decided to pick Bagley over Luka.
I have heard his reasons, they are generally weak and unsatisfying.

That’s really overboard and frankly wrong. I can understand people having a bad taste in their mouths because of his draft position, but to act like he’s a bad player is utter nonsense. This is coming from a guy who has called Bagley out many times and had him 6th in his respective draft class at the time of the draft. He’s a good player, just plagued by injuries. You know that he’s worth more than a bad 2nd. C’mon.

Is he though at his salary?
Then the qualifying is 14.7 the year after.

Never. I was floored. The moment I read the tweet that they were picking Bagley, I knew it was a mistake. I had such a large pit in my stomach because I just knew my favorite team made one of the biggest mistakes in passing Luka and even JJJ and Trae. Bagley has been getting a lot better and he’s becoming the player that I expected (hindered by injuries though), but he never had the potential that Luka, JJJ, or Trae had. It seemed extremely clear to me at the draft and it seemed like a lot of the people here were on the same page.

Why not? He’s shown that he’s capable of scoring a bunch and he has great work ethic. Teams love potential and he has it. He’s not an A-level talent, but he can be a starter for many years to come. He gets way too much hate around here and I’m always surprised by it. He’s the scapegoat for an overall trash Kings game. I get why people rag on him because of his dad’s comments, but it goes too far. He’s still playing hard and progressing. This isn’t Derrick Williams... and who cares about the qualifying offer. If he plays well next season, you have the ability to extend him or match whatever offer he gets. If not, you don’t extend the QO to him. It’s not like he’s been regressing and playing terribly.

He's a high usage low efficiency offensive center making over MLE money next year followed by a big QO. I don't think he has value.kalenclayton wrote:K_chile22 wrote:They should be happy to get a bad secondblind prophet wrote:One of the local guys here says the Kings are looking for a first for Bagley.

I’d give a heavily protected first for a look at him. But Charlotte are desperate for a decent big

This seems incredibly hopeful for Gary Harris's value:

The Nuggets and Mavericks are looking for wing help. Both clubs are offering second-round picks. In the Mavericks’ case, James Johnson’s contract ($16 million, expires at season’s end) is being offered to make salaries work in a potential deal. The Nuggets are doing the same with Gary Harris. Harris, a former cornerstone for the Nuggets, has dealt with a bunch of injuries and has otherwise struggled over the past few seasons. His number for this season is $19.1 million, but he’s under contract for next season at nearly $20.5 million, too.

His potential is probably to become a player worth the MLE or a little more and he's already being paid a little more. I could see a team giving two seconds to try him out, but his QO is a massive overpay for what he projects to be. Guys who can average 14/7 with almost no peripheral stats (less than 1 assist, steal, or block) on just okay efficiency for a big are a dime a dozen. No one is leaping to pay Enes Kanter $14 million a year (or $11 million, for that matter) and he is more efficient as a scorer.

I hope I by the time I get home today another trade is done but bigger than just saving luxury tax space. Come on Danny get Gordon and break your string of no deadline deals!

Gordon or Collins seem unattainable ... I hope I'm wrong. No rumors about Porter, could he be a cover? if they could choose one of Fournier / Drummond / Porter ... who would I choose

I’d do the GS protected first for Bagley if there’s a meh second coming back.
30 hours to the deadline and so far we have... Kabengale moved into space.

Baynes to Celtics , Lowry to Miami, Powell stay put for a sing&trade this summer.

I think the three tenors of expirings aka Scott-Fergs-Poirier for nothing could put the Sixers under the tax line.
At that point it's only matter to find a way to carry over the 15M of Green's contract into 2022.
