Re: Lonzo Ball Thread (UPDATE: Bulls Offer Sato + 2nd Round picks)
It's going to take a protected(top 8-10?) first round pick to land Ball Imo. I would first try to offer a 22' first instead of 21'.
Also, I see no reason why the Pels would want Lauri, the frontcourt defense already sucks. IMO, they wouldn't invest in him.

No one is giving New Orleans a high first round pick for Ball when we know they won’t match a huge offer.

Is '22 likely the year of the double class draft (freshman and high schoolers), or is that expected to be pushed back?

The Clips are offering something around a 2nd rounders and Denver is offering Bol. I think if we offer Coby, we get him. No one is sending out a 1st, let alone a good 1st.

Those are the early negotiations, and maybe I'm overvaluing Lonzo but we'll see. I would be on board for Coby for Ball

As frustrating as Coby has been this year, he can be electric at times. A three guard lineup of Ball, Coby, and Zach would be a lot of fun to watch. I'd try to hang onto him.

Re: Lonzo Ball Thread (UPDATE: Bulls Offer Sato + 2nd Round picks)
I am high on Bol Bol, wanted to take a risk with him at the 7th pick. I thought he looked special during the bubble but Denver has barely played him since then. Teams were so scared off by his health that he fell to 44 after at one point being projected as a sure-fire top 5 pick. I'm having trouble believing that he's the return the Pelicans are looking for.
Let's just offer Coby White and be done with it.

I'm convinced that No player will ever be traded to Chicago if it goes public before the trade happens.
It's sad, because I really wanted Lonzo to play here.

Re: Lonzo Ball Thread (UPDATE: Bulls Offer Sato + 2nd Round picks)
One crazy out-of-the-box idea:
Bulls Trade: Otto Porter
Pelicans Trade: Lonzo Ball, Bledsoe, and a 1st round pick
Bledsoe's contract isn't great, but he can contribute and overall can make us better. It's been reported that NO has been trying to get out of his contract and knows that it will likely cost them a 1st round pick. For us, it does take us out of the FA market, but improves our depth, gets us the guard we want, and gives us a 1st round pick for our troubles.
I don't love the idea, but it's a different idea.

I easily ship out Coby White.
- He doesn't play defense
- doesn't know how to run a half court offense
- shot jacker
- He's an electric microwave scorer off the bench.
He's replaceable. There are tons of these guys in every draft.

It's a better idea if you can then spin off Coby and a pick (if necessary) for a C with some size.

Not happening, from the Bulls or anyone else especially a first rounder for 30 games rental. If that’s the Pelican stand, I would tell them to kick rock and be prepared to offer 25 mil per year with 15% trade kicker in a couple of months.
Either they get something for him now and open up mins for their pg project or delay the inevitable and get nothing in return.

Sure, I think you start with Sato like AK did but they likely are holding out for a pick or prospect. Coby would be the odd man out if we brought in a FT PG.

I love it but there is no way NO does that. Bledsoe has been somewhat productive and they're a lotto team atm. I would imagine they'd view Bledsoe as an asset. At the very least they'd want to get the pick and not give it up.
I'd focus on something with just Ball.

If anything, the peak Ball value would be a 1st from a contender. Like if LAC had it's first, it'd be done.
But I think Coby for Ball is fair. And I think Ball would be really good here. We'd start winning with a competent PG. I'd like to see us take a gamble on a C too. If you could nab Coby for Ball and Porter, Carter and 2nd for KP, I think you're a lock for the playoffs.

Both Lauri and Lonzo want the best lucrative deal and I dont want to be the team overpaying them.
Who at this point is calling Lonzo a future hall of famer? He's a good starter. I think he's a more impactful player than anyone on this roster other than Lavine. So if you can get a good young piece for a low cost, what does it hurt? Do you think Sato or the 2nd rounder are better?
Nobody is calling him a future hall of famer...But the amount of love he is getting is ridiculous...Not only here but twitter, reddit etc...
He will not put us over the top just like Sato wouldnt...And he will ask for a lot of money next year...Thats just my opinion...

What does put us over the top? I think he's a guy who can defend, shoot, create and has great vision. He's a good starter and solid 2 way player. Those guys have value. I think he does make the team a few wins better and address an area of need.

Save your money to a star...Dont waste on guys like ball or lauri...Rather have bums like Sato making 10M a year than Lonzo making over 20M a year.

Doubt you're going to get a 1st rounder here. Bledsoe is only owed 37M over two years next year. Maybe you could get one that projects into absolute crap, but even just Porter for Bledsoe + Ball without the 1st is intriguing.
Challenge with that is it prevents you from locking up Zach with our own cap room this summer, but I might be okay with that.
Surprised how many people want to dump Coby for Ball given Coby has two years left of cheap deal and Ball is going to be a massive contract. Hard for me to be excited about Ball on a 4/80 or something similar type deal starting next year. With Ball a lot depends on if you really trust his three point shooting, and I can't say I do.
