You forgot the late season push that will invariably land the Wizards in lottery nomansland again.
You can count on a +10 there, easy.

For the first time that I can remember we have the 30th worst record out of 30 teams.
Wizards 30 for 30

Bye bye Beal.

With 24 games in the books (I know, kind of missed that 20th game ), your Washington Wizards are 7 & 17 with a winning percentage of .292 and on pace to win 21 games.

Hey, don't look now, but with all the recent winning, the Wizards win percentage is up to .370, good for 27 or so wins if projected to the end, assuming they play 72.

Everyone is right. If you thought they be good you’re right! But, if you thought they’d suck well the sure have due to a lot of circumstances and at times dubious coaching.
Right now the ship no longer be sinking!
27 out of 72 games played and 10 wins. Most optimistic prediction would be 19-8 or so, with the realists thinking 15-12 is good.
Five games off the pace and no longer apparently headed for 20 wins total.
10-17 comes out .370 and projects to 27 wins and 45 losses, but they are better than that with good health.
Eighth seed here we come!

Chess player me says NOW would be a good time to shut down Westbrook or trade him...perhaps.
Bye bye Beal.

The Wizards just passed Orlando into 12th place, but they're 3 games back from home court advantage in the playoffs!

Crazy indeed. So, we need to win 24 and lose 18 the rest of the way to finish at 50% by season-end- which is currently Indiana's record (who sits at 4th!!).

Bizarre that the team with the best record in the East is scoring only 2.71 points per game more than their opponents - on average. Milwaukee is way ahead of them at 7.05.
Only 3 winning teams - ouch.

In the last 13 games(43% of the season), we are 8-5 (44 win pace) if they keep that pace for the rest of the season, they finish 38-34. Probably a 4th or 5th seed.

With 30 games in the books, your Washington Wizards are 12-18, playing at a .400 clip on pace to win 30 games.

Re: Predict the Wizards Record '20-'21 season
Can Wagner/Len/Lopez continue to be an effective/productive “3 headed monster” at center?
Was Westbrook’s lack of production at the start of this season the result of an injury that he has overcome, and he should be a very productive player the rest of the season?
It seems to me that if the answer is yes to both questions, the Wizards are a very dangerous team that can go deep in the playoffs. If the answer is yes to only one of the questions, the Wizards are a good team that have a good chance to make the playoffs, but probably won’t last very long if they make it. If the answer to both questions is no, then the Wizards are headed to the lottery.

After 41 games, the Wizards are 15-26. A .366 pace, which would project out to 26 wins.

But they also had Brooks as the first coach to get fired during the season.....yeah right.
This team could be 0-41 right now and no changes would be made until the off-season.

More important than the hardware are the machine learning algorithms and software that allow 538 to analyze huge amounts of data on how the Wizards have sucked in the past. This allows them to predict with amazing accuracy that the Wizards will continue to suck in the future.
