Re: Trade Talk (Part Six)
This is how I would want it to happen, not necessarily how it would happen:
Wolves stand pat on the trade deadline or just be a trade facilitator for other teams trade (Wolves are the 3rd team in a 3 team trade)
Wolves keep their pace of almost .500 ball until the end of the season
Wolves finish with one of the 3 worst records
Wolves win one of the top 3 draft lottery pick, hence keeping our pick
Wolves fortunate to draft Suggs
Wolves trade D'Lo over the summer knowing that the experiment fails and Rosas shows Towns that it just does not work (plus Suggs > D'Lo)
Bolmaro finally comes to the team as well.
Rubio stays to mentor Suggs, Bolmaro and ANT. Starts at the start of the season and gradually cedes the starting position to a promising Suggs. Bolmaro transitions into a better Rubio and facilitates our 2nd unit well. Both players help set up ANT better and will yield to a more efficient game for ANT and KAT moving forward.
That's going to give us 48 minutes of at least 2 capable ball handers (Rubio, Suggs, Bolmaro) that can shoot and are not selfish in hunting their own shots

I don't think we can win anything with 3 turnstiles as stars.

Was hoping for trades then, but it was so quiet it felt like none would happen. But then...very surprised.

Expect? I'm not sure. I remember calling Beasley early on and figured Juancho would be involved as well, though my idea was more or less a straight swap for Covington.
This year I'd say I'm curious about Bagley and Lonzo. Bagley for salary purposes, since you could offer Juancho+Davis and then carry that salary into next season rather than letting Ed expire for nothing. Ball is interesting if Beasley is on the way out, since his playmaking, defence and ability to hit 3s seems like a good fit between DLo and Edwards. The only issue then is price but who knows? They did well with Beasley, maybe they can get a good deal out of Ball too.

Why isn't LaVine already on a plane this way with Edwards going that way?

Because what you want conflicts with what Rosas said. Not saying it's right or wrong, but Russell, Edwards and Towns are considered pillars going forward. They will not be traded today before the deadline.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Six)
Lonzo Ball seems a foregone conclusion to be traded to CHI, but I wonder if they considered Rubio?
1. Rubio takes less trade assets
2. Less money in the future
3. Already knows how to feed LaVine, to win right now.
4. Helped similar players (Donovan Mitchell and Devin Booker) make leaps forward towards stardom
5. Same age as Vooch (30)
Still probably going to be Ball, but ...?

I really hope we don't go for Gordon.

Vooch is 30 also, and Rubio knows how to feed LaVine, and has the history boosting Donovan Mitchell and Devin Booker.
Billy Donovan does not want to rebuild lol
Chicago going all in

Statements of assurance often enough precede moves, no reason to believe a word. Besides, his time is limited here the way he's doing things lately. He needs to correct some mistakes somehow. This is one chance to get this right from not being able to get it done last draft. Doesn't have to be LaVine. Just floating names.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Six)
That makes totally sense.Jedzz wrote:Why isn't LaVine already on a plane this way with Edwards going that way?
Chicago made a win move by getting Vuc to now trade their all-star for a raw rookie.
On the other hand we are the worst team in the NBA so let's trade our best young prospect.
Fantastic. Never change Jedzz

Re: Trade Talk (Part Six)
Say no to Gordon.... Rosas will bring someone we aren't thinking about in maybe? A smaller Rubio move would be great. I can't watch the guy anymore!
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
