Looks like Chicago is now shopping Lauri. I can't see him fitting with Vuc.

I also bet that there'll be a report about how a team X was willing to trade for Westbrook but Wiz didn't listen (remember Wall to Lakers?). :D

Oh that’s a guarantee. “Clippers inquired about a Westbrook trade, but wiz front office would not budge on commitment to making the playoffs in the eastern conference”

I wonder if we could entice Orlando to do a trade and get Bamba or Wendell Carter Jr by offering Troy Brown + Wagner (or Bonga).

Bamba and Carter Jr look redundant...

Now Fournier on an expiring deal goes for two 2nds.

Orlando has the right idea.

Markkanan is tough to value. He is an impending free agent so he might cost a fortune, or he might not. I don't think there are many teams that want to take on that risk.

Orlando may soon have enough picks to be a suitor for Beal in the offseason. Though their timeline/talent doesn't work.

We are 3.5 games behind Chicago for the 10th seed, and Chicago just made a major acquisition that is sure to boost their fortunes. To make the playoffs, we now need to catch Indiana, who is 4.5 games ahead of us. (And we'd also have to beat out 11th seed Toronto who are 2 games ahead of us.) There are only 30 games left in the season.

Hopefully, if Sheppard and Co. weren't convinced that we are out of the playoff picture, they'll be convinced now.

True, and he certainly wouldn't appear to be a good fit for the Wiz - on the court or on the books.

I don’t wanna jump the gun, but be thankful that the wiz are 1-7 after the all star break or else we might be giving up draft picks for Evan Fournier.

And today's the last day for selling, so hopefully the message has been received on time. In other words... Ted and Tommy, Wake up!!!

Otoh, not sure Chicago's getting $75 million worth from him in the 3 years they have him. Guessing he might be an interesting MLE get for someone in free agency.

They actually only had him for 2 years.

Otto may garner a MLE deal but he hasn't played much in the past 2 years. And clearly doesn't work on his game.

Well, Gafford is a young, athletic big. He can't shoot, but he's good energy spark off the bench. Sometimes he struggles, sometimes he does well - kinda like Mo Wagner - I like this swap.

Hutchison on the other hand is a clear downgrade from Brown, but Wiz obviously gave up on Brown. He's been hurt a lot and almost as bad as Robinson when he actually plays.

Well, I guess I can live with this. Hopefully they can move Neto and/or Lopez for 2nd(s).

Gafford is under control for 2 more years also. As a backup, he's a great get.

You were probably losing Wagner for nothing this offseason and TB didn't have a future here.

Definitely a sellers market. The play in tournament and the new lottery odds have really diminished the number of teams willing to sell and tank.

Being one of the few sellers would be smart. The Wizards are not smart.

I bet we could get a couple 2nds for Bertans and another one for Lopez and maybe even Neto.

We’ll see how things play out. Reports say that Lopez and Bertans are available now.

Trading Bertans better yield shooting or what we talking bouts.?

I would think RoLo is the next most likely guy to get traded as he's having a good year. I bet they have an offer for a 2nd and may be trying to get 2 2nds

I wouldn’t call it a good move, but we needed a young athletic rim protecting big. Sucks to give up on Brown Jr, and Wagner is a quality backup C.

Maybe. They have to run it by Assistant GM Brad Beal first. :noway:
