Hamidou Diallo? :reporter:

Aaaahhh!

Having a good 3rd season, seems to have figured it out with that young Thunder team, but not happy he got traded to Detroit, Casey better play him big minutes.

He has averaged 12/5/2 and 1.0 steal per game while shooting 48%. In an 8 game stretch in February where he saw starter minutes he averaged 16/6/4 and 1.3 steals while still shooting 48 percent from the field, Including back to back games against the Lakers where he put up 20 points/11 rebounds and 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
Charlotte Hornets 2024-25

Morant/Alvarado
Edwards/Huerter/Robinson
Durant/Bogdanovic/Royce
Draymond/Highsmith
Gafford/Collins

On the block: Huerter 36/2 years, Rubio- $6/3 years, Mills- $3/3 years, Duncan Robinson- $16/1 year, Okeke- $1/3 years

I watched a bit of the OKC-Knicks game and it was terrible to watch. It looked worse than a pickup game and OKC looked like they were purposely not defending anything.

Poku playing PG on a depleted OKC team and doing great with 23 and few dimes. Crazy development for the skinny 19 YO. SGA is going to be a superstar. Just plays the game at a different pace than everyone.

Anyone got a list of teams that didn't have players miss games due to covid-19? I'd like to have that list.

Massive choke job by the Pels. My goodness I thought they could hang on to win with Dame making a few poor decisions. But in the end he won them the game.

Lillard was great, but I think the NBA needs to get rid of that crap with the fouls. Lillard was doing all kinds of trickery to get the Pels into foul trouble with offball fouls on him. I hate that type of basketball.

That said, Toronto could learn a lot from Portland. Here is a team effectively going long stretches without a C on court, or using Kanter who is a non-shotblocker. Portland instead loads up on shooters and outscores teams. They played good enough defense at the end to keep it within five or so points to that Lillard could work his magic.

Toronto lacks a closer like Dame but FVV is a similar deep shooter who might offer some of that deep scoring threat.

Just read that Shawn Bradley was paralyzed in a bicycle accident back in January. Sad news, was just talking about him recently.

What's with the Heat - Grizzlies game being stuck at 85-89? Is the live-score widget not refreshing or Is there still a quarter left to play?

RIP Elgin Baylor. One of the revolutionary black superstars who began to change the game in the 60s. 6'5 forward back when they didn't distinguish between small and power forwards, great scorer but also a very good rebounder. One of the first guys to "hang in the air" on his way to the hoop. I really only saw him late in his career after knee injuries slowed him down, but he's worth youtubing.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Not to get too political but would you have done differently?
That fact is that the US has unregulated pharmaceutical pricing and has the highest per capital spend on pharmaceuticals. They spend close to 600 BILLION a year on drugs. There is no scenario in the world where the drug companies would not bend over backwards in order to maintain a foothold in that market.
You can’t look at vaccine procurement in a vacuum. It’s a massive spend/order but at the end of the day it’s just that, a drug order, and the biggest and best customer will always get treated best.

its bizarro world there, people are selling codes to get covid vaccine appointments, richer districts are getting priority (in florida).
its a free for all in some states. most of the Portland trail blazers got vaccines last week because the local native Indian group had extras.

Trudeau was dallying with a Chinese pharmaceutical company and so came late to the party with Pfizer and others.
