0% chance the Mavs traded a first for a guy who hasn’t played in a month. He’s a good vet to have around, but yeah I don’t expect much on the court contribution.

Horrific trade

Neither Redick nor Lyles will play come the playoffs. And both expire so will just be lost assets come the summer.

Bafflingly bad move. And we gave up a second.

The Mavs didn't really have much to play with. Is this a real pick or one of those protected 2nd rounders?

well, its an improvement, not a huge one but it is.

Everyone that was expecting something drastic at this trade line just wasnt being realistic or has very poor awareness of current situation

Yeah... Nice move when you aren't a top 4 team in the West and your best player just got 22. Makes 100% sense.

It should really help the defense too...

I don't want to be too negative, after all it's not handicapping the team, but even a 2nd round pick is too much considering more useful players were traded for 2 2nd round picks.

While the trade isn't atrocious in itself, I really think that it shows everything that is wrong with the management's way of thinking: "Let's make an incredible short term move, we can compete this year!" TRY TO BUILD SOMETHING! Stop patching things up! It was the same problem with Johnson and Burke, instead of just playing Bey and Green.

They just traded Curry for Richardson, saying they had to sacrifice shooting to get better at defense. And now they want to play a guy who can't play defense anymore just because he's a good shooter.

Honestly, they appear incompetent to me.
