How do you guys feel about TT starting over Robert Williams?
You know this is what's going to happen. Will you join me and fire Stephens riot then

I fully expect kemba, thonpson amd fournier all to start and for team defense to become the worst in the league qith offense becoming my turn your turn cause kemba dont paymake.

I expect edwards to play more than nesmith

I expect robert to play no more than 23 minutes game

I expect semi to log more minutes than romeo or aron

I expect romeo to automticlly get more minutes thn nesmith rigt out the gate

I expect grant williams to log twice the minutes that kornet and wagner get

Definitely not an option.
Our highest paid player who's value we're trying to build back up as trade bait is not becoming a 6th man. What team wants to trade for a 35 million dollar 6th man?

we had vin baker, time back, as max salary player. nobody felt that was needed to give him a starting role
this is not a technical reason to put him in the starting five.
i think that we already have 3 players with 20+ ppg in their hands (Fournier a bit less) and we better surround them with defensive oriented players such as Smart and Williams. Kemba may come fresh off the bench, get his minutes (even 30 mpg) and get his buckets against opponents second units

I get what you're saying. I'm saying that the point of getting Kemba on the floor is to increase his value. If we were playing to win, your reasoning is perfectly logical. Right now though, getting Kemba off the books and off to another team is probably item numero uno on Ainge's to do list. Kemba is still our 3rd best player and is often our best player on the floor. There's simply no way he's coming off the bench for this team. Ainge won't let it happen. His value as a trade asset would take a tremendous hit and reduce our chances of dumping him even further.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Doesn't matter if he starts, as long as he's out there when it counts. Like Marcus Smart. The point of moving Theis is so TimeLord gets more minutes (and also because Theis is a free agent). But Rob Williams will get his minutes now.

I’d love a starting line up of Smart, Fournier, Brown, Tatum & Thompson. Kemba as the 6th man. Probably won’t happen but I guess Hayward and Brown came off the bench when we struggled a couple years ago. You never know.

Same.
I think it actually would help develop continuity better as well since Kemba can't play B2Bs and there are plenty coming up. Just run that same lineup to help Evan figure things out. They play a little more on non-Kemba days and PP gets more minutes as well. When Kemba plays, he has the greenest light possible off the bench.

Has anyone in the history of the universe or the marvel extended universe ever come off the bench with a max contract?

Starters: Timelord / Tatum / Brown / Fournier / PP (You got 1 facilitator, 3 wing scorers and a center)
Bench: Thompson / Wagner / Semi / Smart / Kemba (You got Kemba as the scorer, Smart/Semi as facilitator defenders, and 2 rebounding bigs who aren't bad FT shooters.

don't care who starts
do care who closes
for example I fully expect Tristan to start once he comes back from the netherworlds, and that's fine, preserve his trade value etc.
but Robert Williams is now being *counted on* to be a significant contributor and I'm here for it

but now we're back to one wing too many to all fit them in at once -- Kemba/Smart/Fournier/Brown/Tatum is five -- so who closes?
maybe that creates productive organizational stress, hopefully?
maybe everyone has been too comfortable this season, knowing the minutes and FGA will be there?

--I want Kemba and Time Lord joined at the hip, no health references intended. Might as well start them both, my previous advocacy of a Sixth Man role for Kemba notwithstanding.
--The Jays start, of course.
-- Fournier should play every minute a Jay sits. That doesn't leave a lot of minutes for playing with both of them. So he shouldn't start.
-- So Smart should start. But he should be on the floor every minute Kemba isn't.
-- Smart should be the halfcourt floor general. His backup in that role should be Pritchard.
-- Grant and TT should compete or trade off for backup center minutes.
-- Grant and Semi should compete for minutes in matchups where the Jays can't handle 48 PF minutes themselves (e.g. because of health or need to bang).
-- Notwithstanding any of the foregoing, Nesmith and Langford should have an easy path to earning at least 12-18 minutes each, as long as they play well enough, even if other guys are still better. If only one earns the minutes, he plays behind Kemba. If both earn them, other guys get squeezed.

Kemba aint coming off the bench on that max contract y'all  I agree it could be the best move, but not happening

I'm torn between Smart/Fournier closing games, but I think it could be a fluid situation. If you really need the defense (e.g. if you're playing against Harden slotted at the 2) you go Smart. Against less shifty guys, would like to see Fournier

Pritchard and Timelord will automatically see more minutes which is good.

I WANT Nesmith and Romeo to get more minutes but still have a bad feeling Semi will play over them. Really hope I’m wrong though because we need to see the two lottery picks play in order for the future of this team to be good

I'd prob go Kemba/Smart/JB/JT/Rob as the starters. I'd also be okay with Smart and Fournier, but I don't see Kemba being benched.

PP/Evan/Nesmith/Semi/Romeo/Tristan/Wagner is a servicable bench.

Thinking with Evan here, we are gonna see a LOT less Nesmith. Especially once Romeo returns

I'm guessing this is the depth chart.
The moves clean it up a bit right.
Let's go!

Walker/Pritch/Waters
Fournier/Smart/Nesmith
Brown/Semi/Langford
Tatum/Wagner/GWill
RWill/Thompson/Tacko

That's better than mine. I switched Pritch and Kemba.
I can't see our biggest salary off the bench.
Especially as he's healthy now. We'll see right
