I prefer tight ball handlers which is really important in the modern NBA. Plus the fact these 2 ball.handlers have great 3pt abilities AND passing/court vision is just icing in the cake

I agree as well, I would be ecstatic for any of the 1-3

I tend to agree with you here. I want some guys with clear modern NBA skills.

Kuminga definitely gets me the least excited cause of the lack of shooting but at this point I will take any of the top 5.

How is Green + Carter going to be better than a Zach Lavine + Carter duo?

Green is so interesting to me. I think his potential is so crazy and has some 90s/00s era SG play in him to me with shooting and crazy athleticism. If he hits and gets that kind of good then he is my favorite option in the draft.

The downside is that he could also not work on any part of his game and turn into a worse version of Ross. Where if he isn't hitting his shot he is useless.

I loved the thought of adding him to our core but now that the core is gone I am cooler on the idea.

The only bad about Green is that he has a smaller wingspan for SG at 6'8". Some players with shorter wingspans have worked, with Lavine, Beal, Lillard, and Booker all having 6'8" wingspans. Kobe who he is sometimes compared to had a 6'11" wingspan.

Yeah, I offered that post as a big fan of Jalen Green and also someone who thinks Carter can have a role (not necessarily long term starter) with us.

But our future is much different today than it was yesterday. It’s worth asking these questions.

I think he compensates that with his superior athleticism. I mean look at his turn-around/fade-away jump shots. Dude jumps so high when taking it, defenders cant really block or bothers it that much.

Now if you mean regarding defense, then yeah...but we don't want him to play defense, just focus on that Tmac/Kobe role to rack up that scoreboard. lol

With Fultz, Anthony and Hampton on the roster im more comfortable with green than suggs if the choice is close. If we do take suggs they will all be competing for pt. At this point we are back to BPA imo, even Mobley is in play.

Heres my only question, if we get lucky enough to the get the first pick, Cade is obviously a no-brainer, you take him and run and start building around him ASAP!

With that said, he would come in as the primary ball handler and the offense would run through him.....So what happens to Fultz?
Unless Fultz shot returns, hes not going to be effective off the ball and thus wouldnt really be useful for us, if anything Cole would be the better fit as hes a better shooter\scorer. WOuld Fultz be a good 2nd unit floor leader? would that be a waste of 17m a year?
Or would fultz need to be traded?

If we dont get the first pick and are drafting 2-5, if hes available, green needs to be our guy! We need that scoring. Suggs is nice and all, and im sure Mobley is going to be an elite PF\C combo guy, but scoring needs to be the emphasis with this pick, and to me that screen Green!

With that Bulls pick, i know hes getting hated on alot right now for leaving school, but i really think we should be targeting Jalen Johnson (duke) in the middle of the first round

I think he has a very good chance of being another Michael Porter Jr, but in game and in situation. Both have top 5 talent but are projected lower because of things not happening on the court. With Porter it was the back stuff, with JJ its the personality and leaving school midseason (aka "quitting on his team"). He has all the tools, the size, the game, if someone can get his head on straight, he could be a star

Just picturing a future lineup of

WCjr or bamba if either pan out
Isaac
Jalen Johnson
Jalen Green
Fultz

and a bench of Cole, Hampton, okeke bamba\carter............
Man that team would give me so much more hope than any of our teams since the dwight days

PS, yes my plan is to draft two guys named Jalen in the 1st round this year

First, you can never have too much ball handlers and second, Cade in college never handled 100% the ball at all times, he sometimes play as the spot up shooter. So they can co exist during the SL. Plus it would make sure that MCW will never play PG again lol

T-Wolves is top 3 protected. They both needed to lose tonight. Rockets wanted that L a lot more.

I know they have reasons to tank, but I still think the Wolves are primed to win games down the stretch.

They are getting Malik Beasley back on Saturday from his 12 game suspension and appear to be set to get D'Angelo Russell by the middle of next week.

You could do a heck of a lot worse than Russell/Beasley/Edwards/McDaniels/Towns with Rubio/Nowell/Hernangomez/Reid off the bench.

The Russell/Beasley/Edwards/Towns foursome (their four best guys) haven't really played together this year at all, but that's about to happen in the next few games.

Question is, would their FO allow that though? They can win all 3 quarters but during thr 4th, questionable decisions might snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I mean I know we will never admit it but I watched a l ot of magic games earlier this season and I still scratch my head how we lost when we were primed for the win.

Hard to get a gauge on what the Minnesota front office wants to see happen the rest of this year considering they fired Ryan Saunders for not winning enough.

Since Finch took over they still pretty bad, but playing a little better than they were. So we'll see.

D’Angelo should be coming back soon too

The biggest test for our tank and draft positioning will come with the game against the Lakers on Sunday, and games we have remaining against the Rockets, Cavs, Pistons, & Timberwolves.

Going 1-4 or worse against the group would be huge.

Guys now that we have a mid lotto pick or hopefully a 6-10 pick( aside from our first oick of Cade )if Vuc does us a solid and implode CHI (lol) we should watch more games. We have moody, butler duarte barnes and others to keep track of.

Return to Orlando Magic
