Sooo sick of the lakers and it’s telling that nobody wants to come here. You have players going to the nets or the lakers.

Drummond would be a big add for us if he can set screens and create space for Kemba, PP and Evans. Having a big physical center to bang with Embiid and López and Drummond is a need. His rebounding and scoring ability could help stave off anemic first quarters. But if you are Drummond why wouldn’t you pick Lakers? Bigger role, better odds of title, better chance to rebuild brand going into contract year. No brainer for him.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

The only realistic option is olynyk, likely drummond will go to the lakers.

Yes it’s telling that a buy out candidate wants to go to the 2 teams in the league who can actually win a championship- one that’s based in Los Angeles.....what an indictment on the Celtics

I think it's just a case of going to the team that can win a championship.
PJ Brown and Sam Cassell, both highly coveted free-agents at that time, chose Boston in 2008.
Shaq and Rasheed Wallace signed with the Celts in 2010.
When the Lakers and Nets were bad, free-agents weren't interested in signing with them.

I wish the nba could make a rule that the top 3 teams in each conference can't sign someone who's just been bought out ...
I think that it could definitely make the middle tier teams more competitive and have more of an interesting playoffs.

Lakers are 4th in the West. They'd have gotten everyone lol.

I'd so rather have the "consolation prize" of Kelly with this roster than Drummond. I think he's a better fit because of his shooting but especially because he'll come in and fill whatever role they give him without complaint. I worry that with the chemistry issues this team has apparently had bringing in a reputed ego driven guy like Drummond might make things go toxic.

I dont want this team to sign anyone that cannot be the backup forward.
Everything else is fine
Kemba/pp
Smart/fournier
Brown/nesmith
Tatum/wagner
Timelord/thompson
I am very ok with that depth chart.

Who needs Dieng or Aldridge when you got Wagner and Kornet.
Good assessment:

You do know I'm being sarcastic, I wanted Dieng, tbh. Now, I'd take Ellington if he's waived.

I think Drummond will go to the Knicks. They can pay him far more than any other team, and Mitchell Robinson just broke his foot.

The failed trade deadline
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/celtics-reportedly-took-big-swings-for-nikola-vucevic-aaron-gordon-an-all-too-familiar-story-in-boston/
Ainge's primary targets at the trade deadline were Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Vucevic. He struck out with both badly.
Celtics are a team of guards, and even with 2 all-stars are .500 team. The #1 problem is we have no low post threat, and no interior defense.
Ainge didn't get his offer in on time lol. I get it, when you do business you get the other person to come to you to get the upper hand. But in this case it was a massive fail.

The latest targets were Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon, both of whom Boston reportedly took big swings to acquire from Orlando before Thursday's deadline. Instead, Vucevic wound up in Chicago and Gordon in Denver. The Celtics got Evan Fournier. It's unfair to call a guy averaging 20 points per game on 40-percent 3-point shooting a consolation prize, but that's what Fournier feels like.

The Celtics also offered a first-round pick and a young player to Orlando in exchange for Gordon, sources said, and they were prepared to add to that haul, but the Magic accepted Denver's offer, which included Gary Harris Jr., R.J. Hampton and a first-round pick, before Boston had a chance.

Re: The failed trade deadline
Ainge this year and in the off season:
a. Hayward walks for nothing
b. Failed off season signings
c. Doesn't get offer in on time for Gordon. Completely blows the trade deadline not acquiring his main 2 targets.
But he does add yet another guard. Lol

Re: The failed trade deadline
I didn't like the Theis trade but Ainge got a 20 pt scorer for two 2nd round picks. That's not a fail. And Mo and Lue are playing well, which has even taken the sting off the Theis trade for me.
Don't really care about Gordon and Vuc. Not sure why we wanted to become the Orlando Magic.

Re: The failed trade deadline
Aaron Gordon sucks. Vucevic cost multiple picks. How is it a fail? Fournier is miles better than Aaron Gordon.
A team of guards? They have like 3 good guards and bigs are useless.
