May I ask who? Teague, Knight, Rivers...none are moving the needle.

Teague would provide more for us, was really hoping he'd be the target. Austin is largely unplayable, IMO. Knight would be similarly terrible. Not claiming anyone off the buyout market really moves the needle much, but what does Rivers bring that Forbes doesn't? Teague can at least handle the rock and play a little defense (kind of).

Maybe they heard someone else will claim Teague. But standing pat would be better than picking him up IMO.

Let Sam have more burn than sign Austin. Even if he's not a PG, he's young enough to learn with the creators on the team now.

*Knight would be eating crow everyday, being around Giannis. The way he used to freeze him out.

Well, I had zero interest in Teague until Rivers and Knight became options.

Ultimately, none of these guards are going to make a difference when it truly matters. Just go with the one you think could help in case of injury or covid, can give you 10-15 minutes a game the rest of the season to help rest guys and will be a good teammate. I think my main concern is Bud thinking he can expand his rotations come playoff time. Hopefully he keeps it to 8-9 guys this postseason.

OPJ remains the only buyout guy that might excite me and idk if he even gets bought out. Rivers sucks but I think? I’d rather have him than Teague, but definitely over freaking Knight lol. I’m probably underrating Teague. Really at the end of the day all these guys suck and shouldn’t really be playing for us in the playoffs.

You're underrating Teague. Played his best with Budenholzer. If they both have interest, make it happen. It's a chance at having someone with the caliber to effect the game like George Hill off the bench again.

Just realized that the reason OKC has all of those draft picks is to be able to trade Horford.

He's not even close to the caliber of player that Hill was with the Bucks. And he played for Bud 5 years ago and is a much different (older and worse) player now, he was awful last season and not good (though not as terrible) this year.

I guess he's better than Austin Rivers but they all suck imo.

Na it's to select 35 more super young athletic wings who the hope to teach how to shoot. They've tried it like 20 times already so why stop now.

If the buyout guys aren't clearly better than Sam, sign young guys to two year deals with next year NG'd. Build the damn roster.

Just saw that we have $254,188 left from the MLE. Can Bucks use this amount of money before the season ends to sign a Dort type multiyear contract to Diakite? Thunder just did it again with Moses Brown who was on a 2-way too.

This would actually be really nice.

Jrue/Teague
Donte/Pat
Khris/Tucker
Giannis/Portis
Brook/Horford

Would be a pretty damn good 10 man rotation.

We're really gunna sign Brandon Knight and Thon Maker.

I look forward to the Thon + Thanasis defensive lineup.

Is it good? Is it bad? Is the other team just scared for their own safety? No one knows! (Okay, it's the latter)

Had to look it up but probably no.

The minimum salary begins to pro-rate on the first day of the regular season. The minimum salary on a Rest-of-Season contract is based on the fraction of the season remaining when the contract is signed. For example, if there are 177 days in the season, then a minimum salary contract signed on the 60th day of the season is worth 117/177 of the full minimum salary amount.1 If a player signs a multi-year minimum salary contract partway through a season, then the first season is pro-rated and the salary in subsequent seasons is the full minimum salary.

But

Starting January 10 of each season, the Mid-Level (Non-Taxpayer, Taxpayer and Room), Bird (Larry Bird, Early Bird and Non-Bird) and Bi-Annual exceptions begin to pro-rate2 (reduce in value). For example, if there are 177 days in the season, then these exceptions reduce in value each day by 1/177 of the amount remaining on January 10. So if a team had a $9 million Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level exception and spent $2 million before the start of the season, then on January 10, and each day thereafter, the exception would reduce in value by 1/177 of $7 million, or $39,548. Even if the team signs another player after January 10, the daily pro-ration would continue to be 1/177 of $7 million.

So unless we had enough space to sign one of the rookies via MLE we don't have enough space available.

Rivers isn't a bad end of bench guy and is a better play than throwing Merrill out there as backup PG. I'd rather have Teague, though. Obviously Porter would be the gem of the buyout market. Is SAS still thinking of getting rid of Mills?

Drafting/acquiring a solid point guard becomes pretty important in the offseason just so we don't have to even think about needing to buyout next years Jeff Teague or Austin Rivers.

I'd rather sign Joe Johnson TBH. Sorta joking.

Porter would be OK but he's been busted and unproductive for a long time now. I doubt he does much for us. Teague is meh. If we get Rivers or Knight we may as well wave the white flag.

I'm relieved we held on to the Houston pick, and have the TPE. They'll need to add a backup center and PG, even if we're still happy with the starters when the playoffs are over.
