Poirier is right, they are not commodities, they are scrubs that got waived, which is not really a commodity.

He's right. that is pretty dirty by the organization and particularly the coach.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

I was starting to really like Doc since he joined the team, this is unfortunate and he should get called out for it

What is dirty here. A couple of scrubs got dealt and then waived. Next.

I wish Poirer was a commodity then maybe we wouldn't have had to give up so much for Hill

As a trash player, your value gets lower as you gets traded.

He’s just trying to be relevant.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Didn't Poirier also complain last offseason about his playing time with Boston? He's just a whiner who can't accept that he isn't good enough for the NBA.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

The truth is that the financial rules of the NBA create a system where there are a not insignificant number of players each year that are de-humanized to only really being identified as their contract number. Typically, these are injured or fringe guys whose contracts greatly outweigh their ability to contribute so they fly around the league as afterthoughts in trades to satisfy the CBA.

It sucks for these guys (VP being one) but it's the nature of the business that they chose.

That Rivers didn't develop a relationship with Poirier is a non-issue for me. It's not as if he was a FA that was convinced to sign for a specific role and then felt deceived, he was one of those unfortunate guys that fell into the category of trade piece until his contract expires.

The only thing Doc and Morey should have texted him was "you're welcome".

1. Who cares? I mean this guy got paid millions of dollars to do literally nothing. That's the dream scenario for all of us. Why did he not send a text thanks Doc for the free money?

2. This is also just one side of the story. Maybe he was constantly complaining about not getting time and he and Doc didn't get along because of it.

3. Doc should troll him back and take a full page ad in the newspaper thanking Poirier for his legendary contributions to the franchise.

I dunno, every time I've left a job, my boss has thanked me and wished me luck. Seems like a pretty reasonable thing to do.

I just don't think you can compare the worlds. I doubt you were ever hired for the sole purpose of being traded for another employee six months later. I don't disagree that it would be easier and preferable for Doc to just send some generic text but I'm also not losing sleep over it especially since Poirier seems like kind of jerk himself.

You're right, I've never had the kind of relationship with a boss that players have with coaches.
