Miami Heat believe they can acquire Kyle Lowry in free agency.

“The Raptors reportedly wanted Tyler Herro, or the Heat’s young core without Herro, but that was a gamble Miami couldn’t take without knowing Lowry’s full desire to play there,” wrote Farbod Esnaashari of Bleacher Report. “Lowry reportedly wants a two-year, $50 million contract in free agency, and a source in the Heat organization told Bleacher Report that the Heat believe they can acquire him in free agency. Another source had mentioned Lowry’s actual asking price was higher than the reported $50 million contract, and closer to $30 million a year. They did also agree that Miami had a great chance of signing Lowry in the offseason.”

Well this is odd. Oladipo is going to play with a packed backcourt and now Dragic is out.

Would honestly be content to load manage Gogi the rest of the regular season

Aside from obviously preserving Gogi for the yoffs, it would simplify the backcourt numbers crunch which comes with Dipo's addition. Otherwise we're looking at drastically reducing either Herro or Nunn's playing time, which would diminish their potential offseason trade value

Players are way more interested in stacking the deck and being on teams that they feel are guaranteed some amount of success, even if it just means sitting on the bench for them, than they are elevating a team and having that pressure to be a primary reason for that team's success.

That explains why Drummond, LMA, Cousins, and all these guys rather go be #10 on a team guaranteed to go deep in the playoffs, than be #4 or 5 on a team that they'd be the difference in pushing that team to that level.

If those guys at this stage are your #4 and #5, you’re in trouble. Drummond isn’t really all that good of a player, big body and rebounds. LMA is old and useless on defense as is Cousins is injury prone at this point and useless on defense with streaky shooting. However, this team already plays good defense and needs offense. Those dudes aren’t the difference in pushing you over the top though, buyouts rarely do anything. Could swing a game in the postseason, or forget how to **** shoot or play like Mike Bibby.

Couldn't disagree more sorry. But no point in going back and forth. If we meet the Nets in the post season you will see.

You guys wanna know what's scary?

Justise Winslow is now 25 and is still the same offensive player that he was when he was 19 years old.

That's terrifying.

Blasphemy! Justice falls under the "Dorrell Wright Lifetime Protection Program" and he will forever grow his game and become an all-star. BTW, I think Dorrell Wright grew another inch in height as I was typing this. What is he now? 7'2?

Likely waiting to see what happens with Marc Gasol. We've heard the Dedmon option but he's still rehabbing with a little over 20 games left? unrealistic.

I fully expect Miami to keep Ariza in the starting 5 and bring Belly off the bench as the backup 5 in the KO role while moving Precious to only a situational option (thankfully). Andre, KZ, even Jimmy are looking like our options at the 4. At this point, acquiring a 5 looks like an insurance plan rather than a real rotational piece.

Does Gasol even have anything left in the tank? I agree a 5 may be more of an insurance plan but it seems they need to move on one quickly
