I don't think this team has played it's best ball yet. We have some good 3PT shooters, and we'll have games where we'll make over 10.

*Maybe* get for free. There's no guarantees.

The Magic had 15 wins at the trade deadline. There's no guarantee that Minnesota or Houston is going to get to 16.

So it's possible Orlando could have lost every single game post trades, gone 0-28, and still ended up picking worse than 5th.

you forgot that we're also a franchise that's been on the treadmill for a decade.....with one of the league's highest payrolls while being on the league's worst teams....the issue is deeper than players and coaches brodie

Some quickly forget the results of not tanking. 1 pick shy of Embid, Porzingis, Trae who could have turned to Luka. It is just tiring not learning from it and continuing on making the same mistakes and relying on pure luck to get us a top pick by giving ourselves a lesser chance at one. We have to put in some work for it, we can't just rely solely and heavily on just lotto luck like how we got Penny, that was an outlier.

It is what it is if we win games the right way, but if we are relying on 30 year old for the big plays and big shots, that is not the right way. That is just repeating the same mistakes that made us mediocre and might once again happen unless we get extremely lucky on the lottery again as in the 90's.

Hampton, unfortunately, I think will get the squeeze.

If it were me...

Anthony -> MCW
Harris -> Hampton
Ennis -> Ross
Okeke -> Porter Jr.
WCJ -> Bamba

with Birch out.

Anthony too.

My guess is that Randle and Hampton both get squeezed.

I'm hoping Bacon getting squeezed over RJ.

next season, when we close games out with Isaac/Okeke/WCJ....watch TF out.

I can't wait to see what Harris & Cole look like in a few games with these guys.

we need our batman....when we had vuc and company all we had was some rotation players, nice complimentary players(AG+Evan+Ross) and a robin(Vuc) but no batman.....my fear is history repeating itself, this team now has a few nice complimentary players but that's it at this point....we will see going forward....

33 pts., 17 rebs., combined for Mo and WCJ.

Hopefully they both stay energetic and not let the lack of playing time get them down.

Fultz as well hopefully. Fultz should theoretically fit in much more with this new team than the last. Shooters everywhere and stronger rolling big men. Vuc is obviously better for now, but having more lpb options and dunkers for Fultz should be better from the C postion. Plus the fact that both bigs can hit the 3 at respectable levels as well.

The ceiling to this team isn't where we need it just yet, but it definitely got higher. We need to add to it. But in 2 years, we can maybe start the process of becoming a dangerous team if the FO handles their assets correctly.

To be fair, I stuck Scottie Barnes in there. ESPN has him going 9th right now and so I slotted him in with the CHI pick.

Umm.... How did I post this when it wasn't me?... lol

Nobody said you have to be happy about them winning, but let's also be realistic about what's going on.

This idea that the Magic are "rebuilding around mediocre players" is just nonsense. The only player they've made any sort of tangible long-term commitment to isn't even playing this season.

At least 5 of the players on the roster right now won't be here next year, and maybe more than that.

A 28-year-old complete scrub on a two-way deal played 35 minutes tonight at point guard and played terribly at that. A pro-tanking move if there ever was one.

What do you want Clifford to do? Tell these guys to miss shots and turn the ball over on purpose? That isn't how it works.

Isaac and fultz both got big pay days, they aren't going anywhere
Okeke is clearly not going anywhere
I'll bet that cole isn't going anywhere, same with Hampton (apparently that was the hold up in the denver trade)
WCjr isn't going anywhere
Ross isn't going anywhere (if he was, he would of been traded last week)
Harris is making 20m next year, no one's taking him and plus apparently weham wanted him for his leadership, so he definitely will be back next year and maybe longer
Otto is a FA, but could easily see him back if he takes a more reasonable deal
Who knows about bamba, might be back might not

So that's basically the core.....I'm not seeing any future superstars....I'm not seeing any money to sign a FA star (or a star that would want to sign). Not seeing a superstar coming via the 9th and 10th picks....

What I do see is a team that's a solid 6-8 seed next year (if healthy), so right back to what we were
A mediocre team with no stars that's gonna be happy to just make the playoffs next year

Also, my bad. Missed that Barnes kid you put in there as well. I don't know who he is, since I don't follow college sports, but I'll trust your judgement on it. Whoever we add with the Chicago pick is just icing on the cake. But maybe it's packaged instead to move up in the draft or to acquire another young player in a trade.
