Gordon Hayward out 4 weeks with foot injury.

No reason for us not to lock in the 4th seed now.

We need to win our next 2 against the Grizzlies and Lakers. Both are very winnable, considering LA is without Lebron and AD.

Very important that we head into the 4-game roadtrip with 28-24 record (@Blazers, @Suns, @Nuggets, @Wolves). Oh, and we're home the very next game against the Brooklyn Nets. Wouldn't be surprised if we dropped 4 out 5 during these stretch..

Yeah, very normal for many big injuries. Sometimes it can take as long as the mental side to get back to 100%.

A proper offseason in the gym and he’ll be back closer to 100%.

Bell is on the smaller side, might not qualify to battle emmbiid, howard, drumond, davis on the board

It is as if we have a player in mind and we waiting for a buyout, my guess is Otto Porter or Horford

Clearly we are waiting to see if someone shakes free before the 9th. Probably already have a few players on standby to sign.

Other player to consider as potential buyout and free agent:

Birch
Hernangomez
Vonleh
Ellenson
Ed Davis

So udated list :

Labissiere
Dedmond
Bell

Horford
Porter

Birch
Hernangomez
Vonleh
Ellenson
Ed Davis
Henson

Let me know if I am missing a prospect and who you like better and why ?

For my part I like Hernangomez as a big body to snatch rebounds, and Dedmond as an alternative if healthy, though Labissiere and Horford are really intriguing skills wise

This is a big reason I wanted Miami to get Oladipo this season(actually earlier this season) so they can see where he currently is at and monitor him till the end of the season(up to free agency) to see if he's progressing and if he is then you can consider signing him long term with the idea he's still not completely back(which I don't think he is) but his body will get better.

I'm not too worried about his offense, the first week or 2 they're just not going to know what to do and with that, overthink what their doing out there if they're wanting to fit in vs take over an offense.

Oladipo's last 9 games in Houston he averaged 36.6 min, 24.7 pts, 43% FG%, 34% 3pt%, 5 ast, 4.7 reb, 1.3 stls. If he can get 75% of that(and I think it'll be more then that) coupled with his defense, Miami will be tough for anyone to deal with.

What's bad for Miami/Oladipo is that schedule, there's not going to be many practices in the near future and Oladipo desperately needs a few to have a better idea where his teammates will be and why they are there(spacing, for a pass out). He's not a shooter, he needs to know where the driving lanes will be without going to locations his teammates are dragging their defenders too. Oladipo's role is way more complicated then 3pt shooters and once again, another reason Miami needed to trade for him much earlier even if it cost them someone like KZ or even Precious.

Jabari Parker and Belly front court actually looking nice in this clip from August 2020. Jabari gives us another scorer in the front court over someone like Achuiwa. Clearly has chemistry playing with Belly at C.

That steal and slam he had the other day where he kicked on the jets...this explains why he looked funny when he sprinted with the ball on that play. Like there was some uneven hitch in his stride. Hope he is able to strengthen the other leg without further injury.

Too much for us to hope him to get back to his short Prime. At this point, Oladipo is probably what he is..
