GT #49: Bullets @ Raptors 7 PM (NBCSW/1500 AM) - TANKATHON

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Mon Apr 5, 2021 1:44 am

YOUR Washington Bullets are now 17-31 and in need of more losses and fast.

They begin a road trip starting in Florida where they face the Tampa Raptors who are 19-30.

Both teams are within a couple of games of the play-in tournament.

BUT WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT THAT?

The Raps are coming off a huge W over GSW. But they also are in the tanking standings and this game will be pivotal for ping pong balls.

Kyle Lowry is probably out with a bad foot infection.

Beal has been questionable... and with the Bullets being a delusional organization... I can see him suiting up after a week off.

Rui Hachimura? I doubt he plays either.

The Raps have dominated the Bullets over the last few years. Here's hoping that it continues!

The Wizards are 0-8 without Hachimura in the lineup.

Add to that that Brooks won't help himself and play his favorite 3 PG Ish-Neto-Russ midget ball for several minutes and the tank should be assured

If we see a 4 guard lineup, is that grounds for the coach to be fired?
If we see a 4 guard lineup, with Avidja as a C, would that be grounds for the coach to be fired and walked out of the arena on the spot?

With Beal out, the 3 guard lineup is preferable to one that includes Jerome Robinson. Of course playing Bonga in the backcourt would be a nice change of pace.

SF can be handled by Avdija, Hutchison and Mathews. There is never a need to play a PG in the SF position.

I agree that it's better to play two PG's so that Robinson doesn't have to play, but there is never a need for a 3 PG lineup.

SF can also be handled by Bonga, if he's still on the roster -- I never fully vetted all 19 trade day transactions.
Bye bye Beal.

Deni, please change the haircut. It's looking more like Butthead every day.

Yeah, this is a critical tank game.

Though I'm fairly confident that Toronto is going to outplay us down the stretch. They didn't retain Lowry only to throw games and tank for the draft. And if they're not actively tanking, they are a better ball club than us as soon as they get halfway healthy.

Wizards cannot afford to win this one, which by #soWizards logic likely means a blowout victory.

Yes, just a slight characterization.

So Neto/Smith lineups are still OK? that's really why the 3 guard lineup is problematic IMO. Westbrook at this point has been playing small forward effectively especially with the small ball Rockets- sadly Westbrook is right now a better 3 point shooter than either Deni or Hutchinson, and of course Westbrook is a good rebouder and as you said earlier about Deni- he is suited to play the four.

What we need is the 6-guard lineup, so we can lose on a rules violation.

It's like I always say... tank chasers can't take chances.
