Kawhi Leonard 'Widely Expected' To Re-Sign With Clippers

Kawhi Leonard is "widely expected" to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers this offseason, according to team sources and rival executives.

The Clippers have already signed Paul George to a four-year, $190 million extension, which gives the franchise stability around Leonard. 

Leonard chose to sign with the Clippers in 2019 after winning a title with the Toronto Raptors and has been given considerable leeway by the franchise in terms of his work load and even where he lives.

Kawhi was "widely" expected to sign with Toronto.

His LA Clippers signing has been a disaster.
* Clips mortgaged their future for the next decade for PG13 ( who is on the wrong side of 30 ) - giving up an uber talented combo gaurd Shai and half a dozen first round picks in process
* Lost to the Nuggets when they were up 3-1 in the WC Semis
* Doc Rivers fired


Best option would be for Kawhi to sign with Mavs in the offseason or ... wave the flag ... return to the Spurs ( both teams have the cap space to make a run ).

The article rightly suggests that the Clippers have kowtowed and pampered his arse since he arrived. Widely suspected to re-sign? I’d say it’s more of a foregone conclusion at this stage

Thats it Kawhi will be joining the Lakers as he should of in the first place.. The nets put together two MVPs and three all stars so now Kawhi has to rethink his strategy here cause he wants to win.. How will they fit him in I don't know a sign and trade if clippers willing.. Got to stack some chips Kawhi time to join the lakers..

He will leave, **** organistaion with a **** history. Will be a title decided by injuries this season, if everyones healthy the Clippers have no chance getting through even the West winning best of 7's against the Suns, Jazz, Denver, Dallas, or the Blazers. Let alone the Lakers if they have AD and Lebron. If they do get to the Finals they're going to get outscored by BKN by 20 a game or beat up by Embiid & co if BKN are half injured. (Having recollections of the post nets/celtics trade Nets where they look talented but old and injured). To be fair, Griffin is a shell of himself, Aldridge slows the ball and plays at a snails pace, Dinwiddie out, Durant hobbled, Harden fat and bad legs, Kyrie lvin in another dimension mentally. My money on Denver over Philly this year.
