Don't put it past him. This generation of players are perfectly content leaving money on the table just to play at a preferred location.

I'm an avid anti-lose-on-purpose guy. But the Thunder isn't charging anybody to watch in-person this season... so my soapbox is a heckuva lot shorter to stand on.

That's kind of my takeaway as well. At least they aren't charging fans for this garbage. I imagine in a normal year season ticket holders would be pissed that they paid NBA prices to watch a G-league team.

The only people who I see possibly being screwed financially are TV/radio partners and other sponsors. If there's a big drop in ratings and revenue tied directly to when the team purposely started sitting healthy players, then I think those companies might raise a stink.

If KAT and fox didn’t do it playing behind an absolute monstrosity of franchises I don’t see how Sga would. You’re delusional if he’s giving up like 50 million dollars. Like so delusional

As a fan of a team that went the "cash in your assets for a low end star and some role players" route in the 2000's, I can safely say that that IS the loser's path. You want Iso Joe? cuz that's how you get Iso Joe lol.

That said, it definitely is ugly to watch.

There are examples to support my argument as well. Porzingis didn't want to extend with the Knicks. Pretty much forced their hand to trade him.

But yeah, I'm delusional for even suggesting that it's a possibility. :noway:

So this is like what was going on in Seattle, except Presti already had made 3 great picks before they moved the franchise. How many titles did they win with that talent in OKC? Bad vibes. No good will come to this franchise until they move back where they belong.

“Examples” you mean one example, which he didn’t even do he just threatened to sit out for the rest of the year. Porzingis was bluffing anyway if the Knicks wanted him he would’ve stayed.

They don't have deep enough pockets to pull this off in a season where they can sell tickets. This is about their only shot.

The NBA needs to remove OKC from the Draft lottery and stick them at the 14 draft slot for intentional tanking.

Nothing wrong if OKC is tanking but we are talking about a team that was supposed to be the worst in the league this season but overperformed and tried to win every single game they played.

We are basically sitting out Horford and SGA is injured even if he could play if it was important (I think he will come back soon). Bazley is injured for a while and he was terrible before that so it would be better for us if he was playing because I still like his ceiling. Dort should come back in a couple of days. Playing without some of our main guys is really helping Poku's and Maledon's development (hope it can help some other young players as well).

It was already a lock that we couldn't get to bottom 4-5 of the league when we decided to sit Horford and play some of those bench players so it's a terrible tanking job from Presti. would have been happier if we decided to tank way before.

Oh yeah and last year instead of trading CP3/Schroeder/Gallo/Adams and start the rebuild, we decided to keep them playing and we didn't care about losing our FRP that was lotto protected. So yeah let's blame Presti and OKC for playing some bad young players for 20 games in the first time in 10+ years.

RealGM 3 years ago "OKC should trade Westbrook/PG13 and rebuild''

RealmGM now ''OKC should be punished for playing young G-league players for 20 games''

You have a great draft class coming up with a couple potential stars. I’m surprised it took them this long.

Till they go to an unweighted lottery, there will be tanking. Period.

It's against NBA League Rules to intentionally tank games.
Removing Al Horford for no reason is intentionally tanking games.
It's not like they are buying him out and making him a free agent right now.
No other team has done that.
