Heat need Dedmon and Precious to be a legit contributors. Nunn is gonna need a screener. Precious and Jelly should play together

Not confident at all? I'd understand that thought process if he went for his dunk and couldn't finish the play because of something in his knee went wrong but he was able to still get up and finish the play. I'm not saying he's good to go but I'd expect it's something he'll be back maybe in a couple of weeks, maybe right before the end of the regular season. Could be the meniscus which Butler had happen at the same age and he's fine or it could be a bone bruise which Embiid just went through.
Here's Butler at the same age having a knee injury which ended up being a torn meniscus which he took the full 6 weeks to come back from to be ready for the playoffs.
Spoiler:
Some possible good news out of this, if this isn't really very serious, this injury will give Miami the ammo to go with a more team friendly deal with a team option for the last year. Luckily Miami has him now and will know exactly what is wrong and probably what caused this where other teams will have to decide what his health is based off the medicals that Oladipo makes available to them.

I really don't care about the new contract. All that is important is rather he will be a star are not. The Heat will be over the cap regardless. The Heat are in a situation where they have to decide between Dipo and Lowry. If Dipo can not be counted on being a star than the Heat move on to Lowry. Heat have no chance of winning a title if Dipo is not a 20 pt plus scoring star. We are not in the lets get Winslow or Richardson on a decent contract goals. We are beyond being cheap and building trade chips. If Dipo is not a star, it doesn't matter if he got the league min or max, its a failure.AirP. wrote:twix2500 wrote:RexBoyWonder wrote:I'm clinging to Bam's comment like Iggie clinging to girl that said hi to him 2 years ago

If it’s not an acl, I hope Dipo can at least come back 4-5 games before the playoffs start so he can get himself into a groove offensively

From where he left off.....I think he needs much more than 3-4 games to “get in the groove”. Shooting 29% and 60% from FT, needs a miracle more than a couple games

Agreed--the only other thing that might come into play is length of contract. I'm thinking the Heat's next move is to structure contracts for cap space in 2023 when Jimmy's contract is up.

If you look at the very little of statistical data with no context of that data sure, but there is a ton of context here. Oladipo got moved to the a team he's wanted to play for and that team just made the finals, I'm expecting he was quite nervous especially with his contract being up at the end of the year. Then we can toss in Oladipo not even having a practice before those first 2 games and trying to fit in... yes it was a recipe for disaster and that basically happened. After just 1 practice, getting to run through the offense and talk to his teammates about what they want out the offense he seemed more relaxed and played pretty good other then some turnovers.
My expectation, before this injury Miami was getting more of game 3 Oladipo vs the first 2 games with no practices Oladipo.
And yes, he wasn't up to par like he should be in the future, it would take weeks for everyone to be comfortable with each other, not just Oladipo but Butler and Bam too. It took the "Big 3" a while to get going themselves. Bosh took a while to find where he fit in, he had 1 20 point game in his first 10 games in Miami then went on to score 20+ in 33 of his next 67 games.

ATM im hoping and praying Dipo is ok and w''ont miss more then a week.
IF thats the case - i really liked what i saw from him vs LA.
I saw an agressive slasher with a good first step that can get to the rim and to the FT line at a high clip.
Also defensive playmaker that plays good man D while getting steals, blocks and being disruptive.
also saw a capable 3 point shooter, unafraid to take good shots and capable of hitting on decent to good %.
only issue was the the turnovers. and those were more to do with lack of knowledge of his teammates and poor communication. that will improve once they get more reps together.
Just hoping the knee is ok. if it is - there are reasons to feel optimistic about his potential play a month from now.

Dam Kabengale signed with the Cavs. He needed to get some playing experience he will there. Thought he would be a great development piece that wouldnt take long to develop

Nothing yet.
Heat can easily close ranks when it comes to news. It’s a specialty. There won’t be reports until the team wants reports to be distributed.

Didn't expect he'd be making this 4 game trip. Wouldn't be surprised if he misses a week or 2 after the trip also. The organization has to treat him like he's in Miami long term because there's a chance he will be. Miami has the luxury of being overly cautious with Nunn able to give the team some offense.

Ira's update is very possible and the best case scenario. The scar tissue may have touched a nerve and he had a zinger, almost like hitting your funny bone although not that intense, but feeling it in a place he has never felt it before must have freaked VO out.
Now let's hope he doesn't let this mentally affect him.
