Just imagine if we took the two close games Vs BKN, they could have 16L and ATL 18.

Hope they can continue to improve like that and get Hunter and Dunn back.
I said during the off-season that they may contend for first-round advantage if healthy, more than just contend for an 8th spot, and we can hope for that now.
They were not healthy, like some other teams but more injured than a lot teams

0.5 game behind MIA now, we would be really great to win more than 4 out of the 8 next games

4/8? Cmon, that's crazy talk.

LAL
LAC
SAC
GS
DEN
PHX
SAS
NOP

I'd be happy with 2/8. Ecstatic with 3/8. 4/8 would be a minor miracle. Winning more than 4/8? That'd be awesome but looks like a pipe dream to me.

You're right, 4/8 is more than great, but 3/8 is.
LAL are not perfect at this moment, they are without AD
DAL, BOS and WAS have beaten LAC in the last games, so ATL may has a chance at winning 1/2
SAC has to be a win
GSW are capable of the worst and best, but it's the second game of back-to-back for them
DEN very solid at this moment, I see it as the hardest one
PHX solid also, and they will have not played for 3 days before the game
SAS is one to try hard, as like GSW, it's the second game of back-to-back for them
and NOP will be our second game of back-to-back so a hard one

Game 1 of this road trip : checked
If they can win these SAC, GSW and SAS games (both are on their second night of B2B), or 2 of 3 and one surprise on the other 3 games, we can get out of this road trip with 4/8, I really think it's possible.
Then the remaining schedule after that will be one of the easiest in the league

Update : thanks to IND for beating MIA two times in a row

LAL - was not supposed to, but bonus W
LAC - was not supposed to, could have been a win, but it's a L
SAC - should have been a win, it's a L
GS - thought we could win this one - a W
DEN - clearly not favorite, let's see what happens but don't loose too much energy on it
PHX - same than DEN
SAS - this one is like GSW, back-to-back for them, a must win
NOP - we'll see what's left in the tank

2 on 4 at this moment, as expected, but with LAL instead of SAC

CHI has the 6th hardest remaining shcedule, TOR 9th, NYK 10th, CHA 15th, ATL 17th, MIA 19th, BOS 20th and IND the easiest with 26th
We still have twice PHX, twice PHI and twice MIL, the other will be easier

Maybe a little bit of luck tonight:
WAS just beat IND
NOP leads by 15pts Vs BOS with 7min left
MIA leads by 15pts Vs NYK with 7min left (if we consider that it's better to catch NYK than having MIA just behind)
DET leads by 15pts Vs TOR in the middle of the 3rd quarter

Forgot that NOP is also on back-to-back. It will be hard with this double overtime game, but let's finish this road trip on a W

LAL - was not supposed to, but bonus W
LAC - was not supposed to, could have been a win, but it's a L - good L with something to learn
SAC - should have been a win, it's a L
GS - must win, back-to-back for them - a W
DEN - as expected, a L
PHX - as expected, a L but was almost a W - good L
SAS - must win, back-to-back for them, a W
NOP - back-to-back for them, but we'll see what's left in the tank

3 on 7 at this moment, as the minimum expected but with W Vs LAL instead of SAC
Very good road trip already as they were on the verge of beating LAC and SAC, which would have made it 5-2

Tied with IND for the 7th easiest remaining schedule now (CHA 11th, MIA 13th, BOS 16th, CHI 20th, NYK 23th, TOR 24th)

So I'm already in the ecstatic territory and on the verge of minor miracle if we win tonight. Obviously no one accounted for Lebron only playing a quarter vs us when we did our predictions, but we're not complaining now :)

If we win tonight and then with our schedule lightening up we might even be able to play our way into the top 6 and avoid the play in games.

We really need to start getting our players back who are out.

Ecstatic !

More seriously, I thought since Schlenk got these new players that the goal was not making the playoffs but getting top4.
But that was without major injuries, and with me thinking that McMillan, even as assistant only, would have had more impact by pushing for adjustements Pierce was not doing.

And we look a bit back, even with all the injuries we got, if the team has been rightly coached since the beginning of the season, we would have at least 4 more W and be at 28-20, wich is 4th behind MIL at 17L and ahead of CHA at 23L.
If you had a bit less injuries than we got (but lots of team got injuries, so it's not the main factor), we could be fighting in the top3 at this moment

Lots of people, especially in medias, only saw the record from last season, forgetting John was not there 25 games, that Capela had not played... just a better coaching and Capela last season made a almost sure playoffs team.
Adding Bogi, Gallo, Dunn and Rondo/Williams increased it more than just be in "playoffs hope"

And 4-4 on this road trip, only 7 games away left on 23 remaining games

Hawks look good for the #4 or #5 seed and I like their chances to get to the second round if they can get healthy. All things considered that would have to be seen as an excellent season for the young team

How do we feel about our prospects of displacing Milwaukee in 3rd place?

Hell, would we rather knock Budenholzer and Bucks down to 4th place in the standings, or knock them out of the first round of the playoffs ourselves?

Was exactly checking that before seeing your post ;-)
I was thinking "if only we didn't screw so many games in 4th quarter... we could be just 1 or 2 game behind them" and 1 or 2 game is a lot different than 5 games.
Before thinking of knocking them out of a playoffs round, let's see these two games ;-)
Hope we can have full roster for both games

Can the media just chill.

Either Hawks snap up McMillan or regret it after someone else does
