Hey guys.. semi-OT here but there is this trade offer in the trade board where a lot of fans outside Magic that thinks this is a fair deal.

I dunno... Im scratching my head but what do you think?

It is basically :

SGA for ORL 1st ( probably top 3) + CHI 1st (probably top 10) + either of Cole or RJ

Is SGA really that good? That trade offer is probably better than what Harden got.

^ yeah SGA is nice but that's a pass for me. Also the longer team/cost-control on next year's rookies are a plus, even if they're not as good combined as SGA. Ultimately I think he falls just short of being a true "franchise player".

no he's not that good...i would probably entertain that for Ja Morant but SGA isn't worth what could potentially be a #1 Overall pick and on top of that an additional top 10 pick and a past first rounder in Cole or RJ...nowhere near that good

Draftnet has us taking Green and Kispert. I'd take that right now.

I’m getting giddy for Giddey. He’s like the Australian wing version of Poku.

I don’t think he’s a star, but I like his glue-guy potential. If his 3pt shot becomes reliable he’s a 6’8 PG/2nd playmaker on offense and a wing (probs a 3) on defense.

Green + Giddey could be an exciting combo.

SGA for the Chicago pick + Cole?

Hmm, that’s a discussion we can have.

As soon as you talk about our own pick it’s a nonstarter. Absolutely not. SGA is nowhere near worth what Cade, Suggs or Green could be.

A discussion? Magic take that and run easily (Chicago pick + Cole).

I'd do that if our first pick is outside of the top 5, but if it's top 3 or something I'd roll with one of those guys you mentioned. SGA is already legit all-star level at 22.

That's an excellent question.

I would do Orl 1st, CHI 1st, && Cole for Shai, personally. Unless we had the first overall pick. SGA is only 22 and is what we hope and pray one of these young guards will develop into. I don't think people realize how good/impactful he actually is.

We could still move Ross, Let Porter walk, Ennis walk, and position ourselves for a top 5 pick next season. Then once resigning Shai we will still have some cap space to work with to field a more competitive roster in 2022/2023 with Shai/Isaac/Carter hitting their primes and the top 5 pick/RJ filling out the rotation. The Chicago pick also comes back that year which could easily fall in the top 7.

Making a move for Shai isn't a win-now one. It's a move for a young star still on a rookie contract.

Yeah, I'm saying I'd def do it with only one pick (like MagicFan said) but for me it would depend where our other pick fell. But obviously we wouldn't know where the pick would land ahead of time so that's what makes it a tough decision lol. Top 3 I probably don't do it.

Sorry, I don’t see SGA as a franchise SUPER STAR.

I see him a guy who might make a few all star games. We had that in Vuc and it got us no where. I’m not selling the best pick we might have in years for another run at that.

Yeah my bad i didnt read properly. and for context, the trade is based on SGA for a top 3/4 pick and thus means our pick.

50/41/80 as a 22 year old guard is insanely good, and he has size.

I'd say it's a tough decision/no on this draft but in weaker drafts I think I would do it.
