Missed the 50 game mark but... with 53 games in the book, you Washington Wizards are 20-33 sporting a .377 winning percentage and on pace to win 27 games.

Verbal is the leader in the clubhouse with only 19 games to play...

Someone else can comment on the play-in tourney.

As of today, 538 is predicting 28 wins compared to their 25 win preseason prediction. So they would say that the Wizards have overperformed this season.

Also, if they end up within a few games of getting in the play-in tournament, the Wizards will have met the goal that Ted sets for every season: "compete for the playoffs."

Missed on the number, but I seemed to have the general shape of the season. You know, minus all the success part: Early struggles. Westbrook both off due to injury, then trying too hard. Mid season pick up, late wins, attempt to surge into the play-in games.

Don't write yourself off yet - 36 wins maybe isn't not somewhat unimpossible - to be precise. Everyone's got a compressed schedule, and the better teams might take opportunities to rest their best against teams like the Wiz.

Final

Ties go to the standings, lots with not stand predictions. Example: LyricalRico, you can only tie if everyone else who chose 40 misses on the standing (I know you don't worry about being picked on as the example).

If not all games are played, winning percentage will be used (52/72) = .722 winning percentage :o for example.

I think the play-ins are a good idea. Being an 8th seed or even 7th seed is usually a matter of trying to win a couple games, not really winning the season. The play-in does give the marginal playoff teams something to play for. I like that a 9/10 has to win 2 games to get in and a 7/8 has to lose 2 games to drop out.

Man, I glanced at our upcoming schedule and it really looks like we will make the play-in tournament. Our remaining schedule is a sh*tshow of tanking teams.

We play OKC twice, Cleveland 3 times, Detroit once and the Raptors once.

We also play the Pelicans, Indiana twice, Charlotte (no Ball and possibly no Hayward), San Antonio and the Lakers (no Lebron). All those teams will be trying, but they're not particularly good.

The only sure loss is 1 game against Milwaukee. We play Dallas once and the Hawks twice which are probable losses, but not guaranteed.

I'd like to say I forgot the season was shortened, but nah - I'm always irrationally optimistic before the season starts.

Our remaining SOS is second-easiest in the East: http://www.tankathon.com/remaining_schedule_strength. And the remaining SOSs of the teams ahead of us - Toronto and Chicago - are first and third hardest in the East. That doesn't count the Zach LeVine injury.

And yet, our ability to lose to crap teams is remarkable.

With 60 games in the books, your Washington Wizards sport a 27-33 record and a .450 winning percentage on pace for 32 wins. J-Ves is the leader in the clubhouse with 12 games left.

Just need to go 9-3 over these last 12 games and I win!

It's truly unbelievable that my 36-win estimate is still a remote possibility. The Wizards were 17-32 just 11 games ago.

They just need to finish the regular season with a 20 game win streak to reach my absurd 39 win guestimate. :falloff:

Likewise. Though it also means PIF wins as well, which would surely make him insufferable. :clown:

Buncha meanies....

Let me just say that I chose my win total using the Ernie Grunfeld methodology (pin tail on donkey).
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....
