https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2021-nba-predictions/

1.Rockets 17
2.Wolves 21
3. Magic 21
4. Thunder 23
5.Pistons 23
6.Cavs 24

I think we finish 5th. Seems like were way more likely to pull upsets then teams like the Thunder and Magic who have completely committed to tanking. The Rockets just sat Wall down for the season. Those stupid upsets over playoff teams early in the season haunt us, ah well.

5th place is a 10% loss on top 4 pick and 3.5 % on Cade. More importantly it raises the floor on where we can fall to when teams behind us jump. The way the lotto is set up its very likely 1-2 teams hop up the standings into the top 4.

Minnesota up 8 on Utah late in the 3rd, if they win we would of been tied for 2nd with the Wolves playing the Rockets tomorrow

Yeah, if we do finish with the 5th worst record, we’re likely either picking top 4 or 7thish. Almost no way all of the top 4 get the top 4 picks. We just had to hope to be one of the jumpers.

it would be very satisfying to see the Thunder drop as far as mathematically possible in the lottery

T-Wolves clutched one out. Nice

It's too bad that they weren't healthy earlier.

Yeah, the Wolves beating the Jazz twice is a game changer.

It really is a shame we won today. We'd be tied with them in wins if we hadn't.

We've still got to play the Magic and a CRITICAL game against the Wolves.

Lol what a game tomorrow will be for Twolves vs Rockets.

Definitely need a Twolves win. Thunder are going to sneak right into top 4.

Thunder are absolutely loaded with picks moving forward. If we did land a top pick and they get unlucky and fall down the lottery a bit they may be the ideal trade parter if they are set one someone in our draft range. Eventually they'll have to give up multiple picks in trades to get better picks because they have so many.

Just a week ago apparently it was absurd to think the Wolves could finish with a better record than the Pistons. At least that's what was being alluded to when I made the claim. Fun times.

Cleveland may plummet, with Nance, Sexton and Dellavedova out, Nance for the rest of the season. Even the fifth worst record is no sure thing at this point. I wish the youngsters could have saved some of this late season development for next year.

Wolves will play at Rockets today and Magic will play at Cavs tomorrow.

Wolves and Magic can win their 19th win but more realistically I see Cavs win their 22nd. Maybe Dan Gilbert can help us and ask his Cavs to do whatever it takes to lose this one.

We need Cavs to win...

Cavs winning puts them up to 22 wins which may be more important to keep them with a better record than us, instead of trying to out tank the Magic at this point. With everything we've seen lately I'm leaning towards wanting the Cavs to win to ensure we stay in the bottom 5 teams.

Hats off, you did call it. I didn't think they had the will nor the motivation to finish out strongish. But when you have that many vets, something's gotta give I suppose

At this point I'm over teams magically being decimated when it's time to play the Pistons. That's a guaranteed loss if Trey Young was playing.
