I can live with this loss. We didn't shoot well in the forth. Then Giannis had a huge game, that is not sustainable for a seven game series.

No one got hurt, I think (Jeff Green?)

We beat ourselves. This is what happens when our players haven’t been on the court together for practically the entire season. We need to find a rhythm and get Harden back before the season ends. It just feels like his control and playmaking is the most important thing missing right now. Bucks are a really good team and have been playing together for a long time. Doesn’t help that Giannis had an outlier shooting game and our best defender against him was Blake but DJ was there for most of the game and targeted. Claxton and Blake should be our go to defenders. DJ is a better player when Harden is in there and I also think Harden can defend a player like Giannis in the post better. We should never leave DJ on him without any help.

So it’s clear that DJ only plays because others can’t.

Nash kept Blake on the bench until the 4th, so he could basically play all of it and we can leave DJ on the bench.

Once Nic comes back, we’ll have even less reason to play DJ.

I don’t want to skip past this season, but outside of re-signing Blake, a replacement for DJ has got to be #1 or #2 on our summer agenda.

Tough game. Jrue was locking Kyrie up. IDK if the fasting is getting to him but he was unnoticed today. Him and KD still needs to build chemistry. This is why we need Claxton, can't have DJ guarding Giannis all game. We'll see how it goes again Tuesday. Nets were too careless with the ball.

Like what the hell? If Giannis shot like he typically does outside of the paint, we win this game convincingly.

Hey, it happens. I’d rather have it happen now than during the postseason.

I mean, just comparing the two teams, who has more room for improvement come playoff time?

Kyrie is the equivalent of playing through an injury right now, but he should be fully “healthy” for the playoffs. We also didn’t have our best big man and overall defender in Claxton. And oh yeah, we have a top 5 player and perennial MVP candidate due back for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Bucks were missing...Bobby Portis? In a game where Giannis shot like prime Dirk...I think the Bucks played well over their heads in this one, and that we were nowhere close to playing our best basketball.

I’m still confident in any playoff series in the East as long as our big 3 can be healthy.

The good that came from the game: no injuries, KD is looking unstoppable, and Blake has become a key player that is going to help us like nobody expected.

That's why it really sucks what happened with LMA. It has forced us into playing DJ again, and taken away that stretch center option.

I mean teams don't usually give him shoot around level jumpers. There's loose coverage and then There's what the Nets did today. You gotta at least put some pressure on him.

Which the Nets did in 4th quarter when Blake Griffin and Jeff Green were in. Giannis stopped making those shots. EIther way, Giannis is still not hitting majority of these jumpers in most games, regardless of coverage.

Steve is the Teflon Don of coaching wizardry. He will never admit a tactical error. Of all of his positive qualities, that's by far his greatest weakness.

It was a matter of fatigue tho too. If you put Blake on Giannis from the beginning he will be cooked. Pistons tried this two seasons ago with Blake on a career year and they lost 7 out of 8 games that season including playoffs.
Giannis torched them.
He doesn't have to make jumpers. He will just overpower anyone. If deandre isn't strong enough to hold him back, no big on this team is.

It may sound strange to you but we did a good job putting Smart on him. Smart may be short but he cannot be overpowered.

I would put Harden on Giannis if i were you guys. Harden is strong and good in defending the post.

Otherwise, you are going to have a problem. He doesn't have to shoot from outside against any of DJ, Blake or green.

Just my two cents 8-)

:banghead:

I'll score 50 on DJ. I'll put that 50 dollar challenge. I'm not nba player but ain't that trash either.

My 15 ft jumper is money. Give me trash like DJ and I'll invite shorty to watch.

We going to sweep this Buck team with Harden playing at least 30 min.

This kid Claxton getting on my nerves. We need to draft high upside big to replace him.

See, this is where we disagree.

The "game plan" cannot be some static, unchanging thing for all 48 minutes. Opposing players and coaches adjust to your approach, and you have to be agile enough to counter that adjustment with one of your own. This is why no matter what garbage the Raptors throw out on the court, they will always give us fits, because they thrive on making in-game adjustments to beat their opponents.

Steve usually comes with the appropriate pre-game strategy. But when the other coach figures out the strategy, if they make one tweak at normally don't counter that adjustment. We just hope to ride out our original strategy. DJ on Giannis worked wonders in the first matchup this season, because Budenholzer never adjusted. They were ready for that look this time, and we had no answer.

Steve's game plan was not good, because it didn't evolve when the in-game situation necessitated adjustment.

I'll give you that Prok. Allen is and will be better than Claxton dreams to be.

I was wrong, Allen is a true pro.

I and 1 DX here. Nash gave DJ chance and they had a game plan.

How you counter things with no other options? DJ was asked to sit out before LMA logged a min.

I'm not the only one here who admitting the fact we had issues. Those issues gone with simple shot blocker.

Kyrie being ass and missing Harden wouldn't be a problem.
