If the Jays are hurt the C’s should pull the plug on the season.

People ask why they didn’t have Tatum posting Lillard, it’s because the Blazers were having three defenders shadow him every time he put the ball down.

Just comical at this point the lengths this organization will go to not play its second most impactful player the most minutes possible.

The other teams are just laughing at us at this point

Tristan was -20 in his 23 minutes. RW3 was +13 in his 24 minutes.

So glad Brad decided to start Tristan again smh

Offense was fine for the most part and has definitely gotten better as of late but man that defense...I’ve got like zero faith in it. If you need a big stop late in the game, I don’t expect the Celtics to get it done like they have done in the past. Team has huge holes defensively and the communication straight up sucks. It looks like a team that has rarely played with one another on defense which is actually a little true

Just one of those games. Portland is living their best moment of the season right now, healthy and playing solid ball and we got absolutely jobbed all night long by these punk refs. The TT goaltend would have given us a lead. Just awful.

This wasnt wasnt even a bad D game for them in comparison to their normal games which is why they aren't a threat. Can't win shootouts all day

I know you love smart but this is just a ridiculous statement lol.

I mean, I like Smart, but not a rabid fan... didn't realize my whole fandom relied on it though lol. Can he at least win a championship before our whole fandom on the history of the franchise and city is reliant on him??

Where's Kemba today? Has missed half the season and was pure **** in half the games he played in. Him and Smart have probably played in less than 25 games together and he's outplayed Marcus in less than 10 of them. All for the cool price of $34m this year.

But yeah, **** that guy for fighting over the top of a screen in a 3-point game in crunch time and getting ejected for a soft call in the process of filling in for him... AGAIN.

Yeah that call where they waived Thompson's tip-in was bad, really bad. Like Scal and Mike said, it wasn't even close to being on the rim when Thompson touched it. Like you said, that would have given us the lead.

That call and giving Smart a technical, and ejecting him (is it even possible to get ejected after 1 technical?) were awful. I mean, they didn't even call it a double technical on smart, which would be an ejection....but what he did definitely doesn't justify a double T

Rob is clearly better. On offense he is more of a threat on the high post with his passing ability, he also is much more of a threat to actually score when he gets the ball inside...does a better job of creating shots for others with his screens and on D, he's quicker to close out on shooters and does a much better job of protecting the rim and being a defensive presence in the paint.

Hopefully Rob starts next game..

He's been on very restrictive time coming off of surgery; but I recall you calling Kemba our best player (and I agreed at the time) prior to the injury. They want to preserve him for the playoffs the best they can.

But to the original point of the thread, you can be a fan of the Celtics even if you don't like Smart. Just my opinion on it.

I think he's playing pretty well overall, but there's going to be frustrating moments along the way.

Definitely wasn't me. Tatum has been our best player for a few years now, IMO. I had Kemba 4th best last year behind Hayward and Jaylen. This year? Still not top 3. I don't hate him, but he's gloriously overpaid for a scoring specialist who is rarely on. More to the point here, it's pretty crazy that Smart has started 250+ games in the regular season and playoffs, despite never being a starter or being paid like one. He's perpetually having to fill in for guys that make 2-3 times as much, and has done a hell of a job doing it.

Was able to find it, January last year. And like I said, I agreed with you. He'd still be a bit overpaid, but he's a pretty special player when healthy. If we can get that for the playoffs it gives us an honest chance to go far.

To be fair, it took Tatum until mid January of last year to really blow up and take over as the clear cut best player.

At that time, I had JT behind KW and GH but both were obvious health issues. He was never ahead of KI either, in my opinion (still isn't), but he's now the clear cut top guy and on the rise.

A healthy Kemba would be great alongside him though...
