I'm sticking with the Jared Butler bandwagon unless someone silly drops to us. The premium skills in the NBA right now are ballhandling, shooting, creating, and steals. He does all of that. Over 50% on C&S threes. He's 6'3. When he gets a step back three down, I'm not sure anyone will be stopping him.

I want to buy an additional 1st rounder and land either Duarte or Butler. Both are ready-made defenders that can sling it and even run a little bit of pick and roll and create in the mid-range.

I still want to make sure we get a fresh/soph with our 1st rounder, though.

Dream scenario is that Josh Christopher falls. Or that Jalen Johnson is somehow on the board and we get a defensive phenom with insane size to add to our already stacked defense.

And even though his defensive is trash and he's not an established shooter yet, Allen Flannigan's combination of youth, size and shotcreating ability intrigues me a lot.

Yea, like I said, if someone like BJ Boston is sitting there at 25+, then that's an immediate selection for me.

I'm not supersold on Boston. Seems like a meh creator along the lines of Keldon Johnson at Kentucky. Defense is about average and he doesn't appear to be a natural shooter. I suppose he's got the free throw percentage to gradually add that to his game. I dunno, I just don't like him that much.

So Davion Mitchell is getting top 10 love, it appears. A lot of similarities to Donovan Mitchell.

From a pure skillset and physical traits perspective, he appears to tick every box. Downside is he'll be 23 in September and he didn't put his game together until his redshirted junior year at Baylor.

True all-level scorer with fantastic handle and body control. Willing floor spacer both on and off the ball. Feels like the most natural scorer in this draft. Would be a phenomenal fit on this roster.

Obvious knocks are ability to compete defensive due to size, often out of control play, and no jumpshot range.

That said, I think he's both the most dynamic ball handler and the best passer in the draft. Transcendent, elite level passer ala Trae Young and Ja Morant.

He'd be a fascinating addition to this team, but yet another guy that we'd have to wait on, jumpshot-wise (like Maxey).

Our pick is at a pretty awkward spot (high 20’s) the potential guys I want are 20 or higher up. Christopher might be the realistic one. But the timelines atm are out of wack. Maxey needs at least 2 years, Milton 1, Matisse 1.

If we resign Howard we don’t need a backup center as our pick (though Filip will be bargain).

Butler will probably be gone in the early 20’s.
Duarte maybe? Looks like a Brogdon clone.
He’s one that can have immediate impact and still falls in the BPA range.

I’d only move up in this draft to get Jalen Green, I mean I’d be super tempted if the pick to get him was for Ben +. The timeline once again would be iffy but if I was a betting man he’s the “superstar” of this draft.

Mann I rate (though his athleticism can be rightfully questioned with his lack of vertically).

Most of the guys mentioned though I’d be very surprised go past 25 they all have quality components to them.

Butler may go before 20 imo. And Christopher screams a pick me too.

Duarte or Christopher is the one I can see at that 27 range.

Duarte is going to be so tempting because he's the most projectable three and d guy in the draft and we'll likely be losing Danny Green this summer and have a huge void to fill.

Ultimately, I'd rather go Christopher and just wait on the jumper. He's humongous, can make plays defensively, and is a strong pick and roll creator in the mid-range. Once the jumpshot comes, he has two-way star potential.

I think David Johnson is one of the most unheralded prospects in this draft. I rarely see him even talked about in the first round. Usually in the 50+ range. I don't understand why. He's 6'5" 210 pounds, just 20 years old, can handle the ball better than most of the creators in this draft, and is gradually becoming a more willing shooter (5 3fga per-40). Pretty amazing court vision and passer, too, as evident in the highlight video.

He's a guy I'd be perfectly fine with selecting with our 1st round pick.

If his junior year is any indication, Neemias Queta is going to be a hell of a two-way starting C in the NBA.

7' 240 pounds

With Nembhard and Suggs being added to the equation, I feel like Ayayi had to take a back seat in terms of usage, understandably so. However, watching him play, he is a great off-ball player and that shot is pure and quick. I think he'll be an interesting second round prospect.

Ayayi, Agbaji and Todd are buys for me if they are in our second pick round range.

Todd as the stretch PF that can shoot

Agbaji 6”5” 210+ Had 7 3pt attempts a game over 37% from 3 he’s inconsistent at times but he’s a lump of a lad, has a motor.

Ayayi does need to get bigger though, his frame hasn’t come on yet.

But all have something to work with in a the late draft spot.

The sneakiest "give him the ball and get a bucket" guy in this draft is Trendon Watford of LSU.

His value is in the pits because he has no bigman traits and he can't shoot, though.

He does the most important thing in the game of basketball really well, though (go on the ball and score buckets). And at his 6'9" 240 pound size, he's an extremely rare specimen. Feels like you just take him and hope he learns how to shoot. Could be unguardable at the next level if he does.
