There may be a bit of irony here in that I'd bet the Lakers wanted the 7th seed to avoid the Clippers in the 1st round. They would probably have rested their guys on a B2B anyway.

Everyone’s biggest hurdle is the Lakers with their refs. They are already banged up but it’s best to put them through GSW then possibly Grizzlies. Don’t let them rest another week. Then put them through Suns or Jazz for good measure.

Clippers and Lakers can still meet in the 2nd round, if the Clippers are the 3-seed and the Lakers are the 7th seed.

FWIW, the Clippers also just made it impossible for the Suns to tank down to the 3rd seed. So if the Lakers are 7th after the play-in, the Suns can't push the Clippers into that matchup.

Agreed, our starters havent even played together and they all act like need to rest or tank. At least play the first half with playoff rotations. Paul George has been awful down the stretch. If the Clippers dont find some kind of blend, it doesnt matter who they play, they will get bounced by anyone.

I'm not counting Playoff LeBron out of any series until it's over. It makes no sense to willingly get matched up with him in the first round when you can avoid it. If they end up losing to another team, so be it - still isn't worth the risk knowing what we know now.

I totally agree there is a willful ignorance on this board regarding his play that is scaring TF outta me. Honestly to me we do not look ready for the playoffs in terms of chemistry and role solidification. I'm hopeful we can just out talent the Mavs or Trailblazers but they are two very high basketball IQ teams (other than Melo). I'm all hands on deck but it's going to really take our stars turning it up to a level they've never been at before (besides Kawhi who has 3 times and Rondo) to get it done.

I'm not either.

No idea why we're playing "not to lose" or "just stay as long in the playoffs as possible" when playing the Lakers round 1 is the most EFFECTIVE way to win the ring. If we can't beat them we don't deserve to do anything, we look scared running away from them..

I would take the Lakers over the Jazz any day. Jazz are pretenders. Suns are a different story, and the Nuggets are hobbled.
