Is Masai saying MLSE / board members wanted us to go for play-in while being 10 games sub 0.500?

I think he only meets with them twice a year. He was just talking about the universal "everyone."

I hope and think he'll stay, but it's not a given these guys give him everything he asks for.

Frankly, I've thought for a while that Masai is calling out the Rogers/Sportsnet side of ownership for blatant bias towards hockey because they spent billions on the TV rights, and supporting the Blue Jays because they own them outright, and shortshrifting the Raptors by putting too many on air hockey people for any Raptors media they they do. Basketball isn't getting the support it should get from that side of ownership.

I completely agree, and it pisses me off that I'm stuck with hockey games between two random American cities I couldn't care less about on a nightly basis.

This is where I'm concerned. Masai is a visionary and can see a future where Hoops is on equal footing. I think the long-term demographics support this, but good luck bringing Bell/Rogers guys on board.

Maybe the Bell/Rogers guys should take a peek at the growth in asset value the Raptors franchise has undergone since Masai got here, and promise not to slobber as their jaws drop.
Everybody is losing their freaking minds. Nutbars and wingnuts have infested this forum. We've become a public lavatory without cleaning staff.

Most franchises have seen a consistent growth in value over the years. Its a function of one competitor in an increasing population. There are some variances in that value market to market but the overall trend is established over different sports as well.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Man those quotes about the play in don’t do justice for the actual video of himself speaking on it. He really ethers the stupidity of that whole concept of trying to make it into the playoffs that was pushed by the media and so many fans. Feels good to have a Gm who sees the bigger picture.

I have a feeling it was similar feeling within Rogers and Bell. I bet you they were pushing Masai for play-in.

He does not sound like someone who's ready to leave the Raptors. Not from that interview anyway. He sounds like he has a lot of unfinished business.

If anything, now I'm starting to realize that he didn't sign yet because he had a whole lot of things he wanted to Negotiate. Not just the paycheck/salary. He's using this next Contract to get a lot of things out of his chest and to see how MLSE/Ownership reacts and how far they're willing to go with the Toronto Raptors.

He wants to act like a big dog like the Lakers. Good for Masai
