The refs aren't great, but the Jazz are losing all on their own. They are the ones bricking shots and turning the ball over.

Stayed up all night in Central Europe to watch this game. Not thrilled to sacrifice sleep to watch the jazz look like hot garbage. They have 10 min to turn this shiznitshow around. Embarrassing.

Jazz deserve this loss. This is one of the worst games I've seen them play all season.
If they think they are contenders hopefully this game is a wake up call.
If Mitchell is still injured, there is no reason to rush him back anytime soon. IF he was capable of playing tonight, then this loss is a good dose of karma for resting him.
I really like this Frizz team. Well deserved win.

Unfortunately that is the law of nature: 3P oriented game is easiest to distort when good opponent put real effort on defense. Complicated things just are a\easiest to break. Unless you have a freak like Curry who doesn't care about defense or distance.

Re: Round 1, Game 1: Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies
Jazz lost because ---
1) Donovan didn't play.
2) Rudy was in foul trouble when the game turned.
3) The Jazz missed a ton of shots and were out of sync offensively.
Overall, the Jazz didn't look well prepared for this game, starting with Donovan being a late scratch, and not having a defensive scheme for Morant and Brooks. Probably not knowing who the opponent was until late on Friday evening limited the Jazz's preparatio

Mitchell also draws a lot of defensive attention, including the team's best player, and helps get our shooters open looks.

In this context DM is more than that - he can do reasonably effective things on offense outside this fragile blender toy. Conley and Clarkson can too but not as good as DM. And BB, Joe, Niang, Roice - all of them are heavily depend on working blender. So I never was optimistic about the PO - not beause of players but because of the 3P heavy "system". So far it worked only for GS with prime Curry.

Frankly, we played like crap . Tons of turnovers, missed shots... Still they can do it better too, they missed tons of shots too.
I only hope Quin make some adjusts and Donovan playing.
Let's go Jazz!

Re: Round 1, Game 1: Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies
Grizz just plain old showed up and took it to the Jazz. Out hustled, out played, demoralized them. Not what we have seen this year, so it looked really bad. Bogey got going ninth 2nd half, but he was completely alone. Jazz got up easily in the first, then shut it down WAY too early and paid the price.
Ingles, no-show, Rudy, half baked, JC ended his consecutive 3 streak, Conley was OK, but not as effective bc the Grizzlies could focus on him since no one else was a threat. Overall just a REALLY bad game, hopefully a wake up to what the playoffs are all about.
