Percentage of FGs assisted inside the arc:
Joe Embiid - 46.1 for his career, 42.9 this year
Giannis Antetokounmpo - 45.7 for his career, 42.8 this year
Bradley Beal - 44.8 for his career, 43 this year

Beal's shotcreating frequency is embarrassing for a #1 option. We see just as much creating off the dribble from star bigman than we do from him. Paying a superstar package to acquire a guy with inflated stats and no exceptional creation abilities is a massive mistake. A rookie-level oversight. Overrration of PPG out of context.

Assisted inside the arc:
Harden - 16%
Irving - 23%
Harris - 35.8%
Randle - 32.4%
Tatum - 38.3%
Walker - 26.8%
Middleton - 33.3%
Holiday - 33%
Young - 12.5%
Butler - 35.8%
Westbrook - 16.4%
Mitchell - 15%
Lillard - 17%
McCollum - 30.1%
Paul - 8.3%
Booker - 39.4%
George - 27.7%
Leonard - 28.6%
James - 32.7%
Doncic - 9.5%
Morant - 29.4%

Oh no, Bradley Beal shots assisted inside the arc at a similar rate than connoted not 1# option Lebron James. In a team where connoted guy, who don't dominate the ball, Russell Westbrook plays...

For someone who bash "stats nerds" you for sure like to use obscure stats

MaYbE because he's good at shooting jump shots and doesn't need to dribble to score. Have you ever thought about that?

44.8% of his buckets inside the arc are assisted! That's trash for a #1 option. The ace level creators are in the teens. Most allstars are in the 20% and 30% range. Beal is just not a #1 option. Upjumped shooter being fed assisted buckets. And the Wizards have been a non-threatening offense ever since he's been the man there.

Hmm, I don't quite get the argument here. First Beal's not a MVP-type mega-volume guy and I don't think anyone ever said he was (at least no one outside the DC metro area). It's not his game to take the ball every time and make something happen, to spam pn'r or their other go-tos like most primary scorers do.

Building on that point, what's so impressive about Beal is precisely that he crushes you without having the offense focus on him and him handling/initiating. He cuts brilliantly, takes and makes crazy finishes all the time, and is a lethal catch and shoot threat. Basically no one can do that and manage to score 30ppg, and Beal is uniquely, specially talented at that. We've seen him exhibit that this year a bunch, he's played pretty durn amazing ball against us in general.

It seems like you're spending a lot of time arguing he's not a '#1 option,' hence aren't properly identifying what he is and does well. Which makes it hard to give a good read of how good he is overall.

As if you can uncover an angle I've never approached.

Devin Booker: 36.9 assisted for his career
Zach Lavine: 37.8% assisted for his career

Maybe he's just not a good enough creator.....like I said.

I know Bradley Beal is a dream trade target for many a Sixers fan, so my stats are a crushing blow. But I do advise to go back to the drawing board and look for better targets because he's not the answer IMO. Not even close to being one.

Damn, Derrick Rose

Anyone have any regret we didn't pull the trigger? Not going to lie, I was against it, given the season ending groin thing at last year's deadline. Didn't think he'd be healthy for the playoffs.

I love it because it's so transparently a concept fed to him by inner-circle yes men in order to curry favor with him. I can just picture them sitting on the couch gassing him up after he went through his social media and got mad.

Yea but Maxey got 3 blocks in 14 minutes. If he played 6 more minutes, he could have gotten 2 more blocks and 4 steals.

I would have taken the “I knew I needed to score when they’re smothering Joel and that’s what I did tonight” route, but I guess combative is an option too.

Six points against a garbage team begging you to attempt shots is worthy of criticism.

I wanted him but I'm happy for the Knicks. Their fans needed this.
