He’s been trying to get to LA before he got traded to Toronto. I don’t think he’s going anywhere regardless of the outcome of their postseason, there’s no sort of linkage other than a talking head stirring up stuff for a trash network. If he comes here, I’d be surprised. But if he doesn’t, nobody should be blaming anybody in the organization because it’s a loooonnngggg shot anyway so don’t get your hopes up. He also played in back to backs this season and the only reason he didn’t last year was because of injuries from the season prior. If not putting up effort is 25/7/5 on 51/40/89 then I’ll be damned because I wish Jimmy and Bam were that effortless, he’s been phenomenal this season and off to a great start in their series.

The Clips got embarrassed last year, and they got a new coach, of course they will play with more effort this year. They got clowned on all last offseason. We had the pandemic p memes. Kawhi wants to make the playoffs, in the West you need another star player. If Kawhi just wanted rings he would have teamed up with the Laker, he didnt.

The Clips get “memed” literally every year, the only difference is the roster. Hell, they were pretty good last year too. Dealing with Kawhi’s injuries, PG missing a month to start the season, chemistry, and Doc is a chit coach. Maybe not chit but he’s overrated as a coach. PG IS a star, he’s been better than Jimmy and Bam in these playoffs even though his 3 point shooting has hit Jimmy’s level of bad on more volume. You DON’T need to join up with LeBron and AD to win rings, every star that was on the market would’ve joined them two years ago if that was the case. Every player in the NBA wants to make the Playoffs, y’all think these dudes hoop to lose?

He's not saying that Kawhi doesn't want to win. Everyone wants to win. Even the laziest least focused players in the league. What he's saying is that other things take priority over winning for Kawhi. And since he literally left a championship team to go play for the little brother in L.A., I think he has a strong case. Kawhi recruited other top players, but he was going to L.A. with or without them because that's where he (or his uncle) wants to be.

That’s a once in a blue moon kind of thing though in leaving after winning a title. Dude never wanted to be with Raptors, he was always going back to L.A. but he was absolutely going to the Lakers if the Clippers couldn’t get PG. He wasn’t going to play with the Clips with just Trez, Lou, and Pat Bev.

Maybe but luckily they had SGA and Gallo too. I'm not sure Kawhi understood how much had to be traded to get PG.

I'm in favor of every and anyone being traded/not re-signed. Not attached to a single member of this team.

Off season moves: Iggy, ariza, UD, belly, Oladipo all gone next year.

They will try to sign dragic to a 2-year extension if they cant acquire Lowry on a two year deal. Else, dragic is gone too.

They will match Nunn's contact if reasonable, else GONE!

Big Man who can shoot and a PG top priority in the draft and free agency.

This team sorely missed Olynyk. (hint, hint...)

Guys.

Let's get the hype going for Bradley Beal. We need him in Miami.

Send herro, robinson, nunn, draft picks, I don't care. Bring Beal to play with Jimmy and Bam.

We're in a tough spot.

Not many options out there this offseason, Unless Clippers implode and Jimmy gets Kawhi to bring his talents to south beach.

We have a good team, likable players, but without a bonafide elite scorer - this current team can't contend.

Reality might be that this (next few years) aren't our window. Every franchise has periods of not contending, this might be ours.

This isn't a huge indictment against anyone - front office is solid, players are mostly doing their part - it's part of the game. You sometimes have down years. Sometimes your stars don't align - we got a bit unlucky with the lame free agent market, current skillsets not meshing great, Dipo couldv'e been a game changer - things just not going our way ATM.

Very interesting to see what the front office decides to do going forward.

The priority hasn't changed for me, the problems I seen today is what I have always felt could be exposed.

Bam has to become score first player. Can't be a Max player and just be a great role player. He has to be a player who carries the offense. Bams has to be a player who draws double teams. Definitely can't be a player who can just be left wide open. Bam should have scored 40 pts because of the way they were defending him.

Can't be a team who's scoring is carried on a role player. Too many times its been shut down Duncan and the whole offense collapse. All this fuss about Ariza and Duncan is silly.

Point Guard is the greatest issue in running Spo scheme offensively and defensively. Offensively a point guard will allow Butler and Bam to roam as scoring first options off the ball instead of them looking to distribute the ball first.

Defensively a point of attack point guard can cripple teams from getting into their offensive sets to target and iso our weak defenders. This series the Heat really needed Avery Bradley. Bradley would of disrupted the Bucks offensive set up. He could of taken the ball out of Holidays hands and the Bucks offense would converted back into point giannis offense. And made it a more competitive game even thou Heat still would of lost because of Bam struggles.

I agree the Heat could use a better off the ball shooting 4 but it will still struggle without a point guard.

I am incline to move on from Dragic and Iguodala. Dragic knows how to play point but physically can't do it versus good defenders. He primary now a spot up shooting guard. Iguodala can't do much on offense anymore. Its time for him to retire.

I think we should go the exact opposite path - don't try to force things that aren't there.

Jimmy and Bam are great, but they're NOT a first and second offensive options on a championship team.

Jimmy can be a great second option and Bam a great THIRD option, BEHIND a legit natural elite scorer as the first option. Easier said then done, but the truth is we're lacking that stud scorer type.

Once You put Jimmy and Bam in the right offensive roles they will flourish, then the role players aren't asked to do more then they're capable of. Everything falls into place if you add that legit scorer.

Think of Bam as a better Draymond Green, Jimmy is a better Klay, but we're missing the "Curry". You don't try to force a Green to become a first option, it won't work.

I agree an elite scorer would boost this team. And specifically it needs to be an elite shooting scorer. That right now is not an option right now. That is not Leonard by the way. That would of been Harden and Lavine.

Also Bam making too much money to not be a better scorer. Can't live with that period. Way too much money to be Draymond. Once he got that contract he has certain responsibilities. This is how we f up the Whiteside situation. Can't win giving a role player max money.

Until that option comes available the Heat has to make this team more versatile offensively and enhance the defense. Bring the team scoring up and the defense up.

In the meantime they have to build around Bam and Butler. Bam needs to continue to evolve.

At the minimum can't be a Max player scoring under 20 pts a game?

This sh*t right here is spot on. An elite/prolific scorer is the medicine.

I grew quite agitated w/ Bam, esp after taking that bag & not performing the way a max player should. But come to realize he's not cut form the same cloth as your Wade's, Tatums, Kawhi, Beal's etc. He's a role player, a 3rd option type. We're asking him to be something he simply is not & if we keep expecting this we'll only continue to be disappointed.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

I was googling all of the Harden to Heat articles from January.

They said :

Houston’s asking price from Miami in a James Harden trade:

Tyler Herro
Duncan Robinson
Precious Achiuwa
Kendrick Nunn
Salary Filler
Two 1st-Round Picks
4 Pick Swaps

Miami was not interested

--------------

Is this true bro?

Look at that package from where we stand right now, and tell me you don't do it? Those picks would all be 29th or 30th 1st round picks for us anyway.

that's would've fine until he got the Max. 3rd option is not a role player. Right now he not playing well enough to be a third option.

The Heat can win with Jimmy as number one scorer, but what they can't do is win with Jimmy as your number one scorer and point guard and sole perimeter defender. And Bam as your number two scorer and number two point guard.

The reality is - If Jimmy pushed hard for Harden the front office would've done it. I guess he didn't. And all those future picks and swaps could become nightmarish, we're not young team with jimmy/Harden as the key Pisces.

It is what it is. Harden is gone.

Pray for Kawhi.
