Playoffs: First Round Game 3 : (1) Philadelphia 76ers @ (8) Washington Wizards l Saturday 5/29 l 7:00pm l NBCSP/ESPN

Tonight the Sixers look to join the Bucks as the only other team to stake out a commanding 3-0 lead. It would be the first 3-0 lead for the Sixers since 1991, when they swept those same Bucks back when the first round was only best of 5.

Game 2 pretty much went according to plan. Simmons satisfied the casuals (who do not know ball) by scoring double digits in the first quarter, Embiid was air humping by half time, the starters were out by the end of the third, and then we got BBall Paul time in the fourth. The only hangups really were injury scares for Harris and Curry, fortunately neither injury seems serious, with Harris not being listed on the injury report and Curry being probable. Oh and some moron dumped popcorn on Westbrook's head.

Speaking of Westbrook, he's questionable for the game with a sprained ankle. The popcorn thing has overshadowed how poorly he has played in this series so far, even for someone with a pretty checkered playoff record. If he does play, the Wizards are probably going to need a lot more from him.

We saw the venue flip change up the results in several games last night. After two close games in NY, the Hawks blew out the Knicks in Atlanta. After two easy Nets wins in Brooklyn, the Celtics rode a great Tatum performance to a win in Boston. This is a great opportunity for this Sixers team to again distinguish itself from last year's road nonsense.

It seems like Maxey took the backup point minutes from Shake in the second half last game, we'll see if that continues. Otherwise hopefully more of the same and they get one win closer to finishing this series out.

Go Sixers!

Spoiler for what we want the Sixers to do to the Wizards tonight (only figuratively, of course):

If Westbrook doesn't play, I wonder if Brooks elects to insert more size in the rotation or he just increases minutes for Smith and Neto.

They can't keep playing small can they? Its one thing to try it because that's how they got here, but it's obvious by now it ain't gonna work.

They just don’t have many other options in terms of bigger forwards. They started their lottery pick when he was healthy but he’s out for the year. It’s pretty much just Hutchinson and Bonga neither of which are any good.

I kinda like Hutchinson's traits. Can create a little, defend a little, is a strong rebounder for a SG/SF. They literally have nothing to lose. Ish is pretty terrible and Neto hardly ever does anything when he's on the court.

I still hate that the Bucks are finished and we are still about to play game 3.

Total BS. No reason for 2 days between both games so far.

In theory, they must think the higher seeds have a tendency to sweep more, so make them play last with more rest up front. But there is no reward for the 1 seed to sweep, they don't get rest DURING the playoffs.

I remember when the Bulls commented it was better when they swept cause they had rest between each series. This way, if we did go 7 with the Wiz, we are at a huge disadvantage.

Its terrible, Silver can kiss my a$$

I just went to a movie and my wife and I took turns throwing individual pieces of popcorn at each other. I didn't realize how offensive it was until we had already done it. I'm sure everyone around us was horrified. I'm just glad the cops didn't get called. After all, we were only joking around with each other. I completely forgot about the Westbrook incident during those brief moments. Oh well, fun times, cool movie. Hopefully nobody gets popcorned tonight and we can all just watch a game...A playoff game! Where the Sixers DOMINATE AND TAKE A VICE GRIP BALL CLENCHING COMMANDING 3-0 LEAD!!!!! Only to have the Wizards storm back and tie the series at 3 a piece and force a game 7.

Oh look, the Wiz discovered that they cannot play 3 guards against us. It only took 2 games for Brooks to get it.

That's less games than Ty Lue discovering Zubac is unplayable against the mavs lol

Yeah but he's never been about this bad. He is 0-8 right now. Usually about 55-65 percent for his career. It's insane how the mental factor plays such a role in professional sports. In my opinion it may be the number one factor to determine greatness as an athlete.
