Right now? Thats 3 allstars, 1 very good player in a contender and 1 scru.... i mean a good 5th option.
Defense is suspect but that team could probably score it out with the Nets.

And there is a good chance we would have JI as well (or DSJr ).

None of the five guys you mentioned were originally acquired by this current front office. Hell... three of the five were both acquired *and* traded away by the previous regime.
I also wouldn't say it's fair to assume that guys like Oladipo and Harris would have developed into what they did had they not gotten traded multiple times.
Oladipo was on his third team when he broke out. Harris was on his fourth team when he broke out.
Sometimes guys really need a wakeup call.

I’d rather avoid the PTSD and not think about a team with Vuc and Fournier on it. I’m grateful for the potential #8 pick Vuc helped tank Chicago into, and I’m just grateful Fournier is pulling his disappearing act on another team.

Re: Oladipo, Fournier, Tobias Harris, Domantas Sabonis, Vucevic
I think there are lessons to be learned here.
1) Don't hire "win now" coaches that favor vets.
Skiles, Clifford would never put that young 5 on the floor together long enough to see them flourish.
2) Don't bring in vets that stifle development and rob young players of playing time.
Ronnie Price, Willie Green, Channing Frye, Brandon Jennings, Jeff Green, Ben Gordon, Arron Afflalo, Shelvin Mack, DJ Augustin, Jodie Meeks, CJ Watson, Jason Smith, Al Farouq Aminu... why did we ever bring in these guys? You can't bring in role players who think that they were hired to be stars or even starters.
3) Have patience with your young players.
Give them roles that help them understand their importance to the team and how they can grow in the future.
4) Draft BPA that fits a need.
Need to avoid ruining your young assets by overcrowding room for playing time, which can also negatively affect team chemistry. BPA is ok if there is a clear BPA (rare) and the player will make your current starter expendable soon. Dipo/Fournier/Harris/Sabonis/Vuc look fine, but drafting Payton, Gordon, and Hezonja created the overcrowding and chemistry problems.\
5) Don't do stupid trades and sign role players to big contracts.
Self expalnatory.

A bunch of 3rd options, 1 + defender who is always injured. Iso Joe Hawks team level talent. Its not like we traded James Harden & kept Kendrick Perkins instead kinda ''What If?''' Could care less

To be fair I believe a deal was already in place when we drafted Sabonis. He was never intended to be part of the Magic

The only one that makes me cry is Sabonis. We had him for free and we gave him literally for nothing. The rest...Tobias Harris meh...he is not worth the money he earns.
oladipo was fantastic on that year with the Pacers but come on...the guy hasn’t been healthy in 2 years
There’s no way we would afford all of them together.

I didn't say they were

I didn't say that either, but I wouldn't find it unfair.
By now they'd be, what? 5% better/worse? If different. We'll never know what would've happened, but being traded is no reason to think they wouldn't have developed as much. Their numbers would be different for sure, they'd change with every different scenario, but what's not fair to assume is that they'd be worse.

Preach.
With the exception of Sabonis because he never actually played on the team, they just never fit. As they were just 3rd options at best ain't no one losing sleep over them.

I never felt happier getting rid of a player as I felt with Fournier's departure. I was so tired of his apathy and selfishness.
I'm ecstatic to see him struggle on defense on another team.

Re: Oladipo, Fournier, Tobias Harris, Domantas Sabonis, Vucevic
For me:
My fix.
I accept many here did not favor Fournier, but for me, Aminu was a catastrophic contract that hindered the ability of Orlando to recover from previous roster construction. I still cannot believe Orlando got to bin-him in the Vučević trade. Seriously, that has to me about the same value as the second FRP (the 2023 pick).
And Aminu was actually even worse for Chicago. Amazing.

Aminu got hurt early on and generally played very poorly, but you're dramatically overselling how negatively impactful his contract was. The Magic never even paid the luxury tax.
It was a 3 year, 30M deal. I wouldn't even say it was one of the 5 worst contracts in Magic history. Maybe not even one of the 10 worst.

To be fair, its not the amount or the number of years that made Aminu's contract terrible. Its that the Magic were making a push to be a playoff team and spent the little cap space left on the wrong player and then that player was injured compounded that misstep. IMO the worse contract for the magic is yet to be determined, it will be Fultz or JI, just not sure which one yet.
