Interesting

Damned if you do damned if you don't. If they would have put it off until summer fans would have said "look, we don't take care of our guys". Now the same fans are asking why they gave him the max.

Riley shouldnt reveal that. Those conversations should of been left between Bam and Riley. It is what it is. That information doesnt help anything.

It doesn't appear to hurt anything either. If he's offended, go out on the court and do something about it. I'd also take these one sentence soundbites with a grain of salt and wait to hear everything in context.

How many players got szn-ending injuries this szn? probably not a lot but more than a handful I assume such as a life in NBA. a lot more likely than getting hit by a truck. You could easily lose 150+ millions by waiting around another year. that's a lot to ask for players who haven't gotten paid.

Pat knew Bam was not ready, Jimmy probably endorsed it, he put the blame on himself and declined the ASG spot without Bam.

If you're Bam you 100% secure the bag right away. Smart move. One injury and that bag could be lost forever.

Not necessarily. He had a nice szn for a decent backup but hardly a starter material or anything like that . 8/2/3 on 48/44/89

he's getting attention right now coz he's destroying the dumpster fire of Lakers guards, but I'm sure all teams will look to sign him for cheap. and you'd be stupid to overpay a player like that :)

Firstly, thank you for acknowledging and accepting my transition to identifying as a Bucks fan. I've been feeling a little oppressed since beginning my transition so it really helps DemonOP

If the Heat were naive then so was pretty much everyone when all the talk surrounding Miami was of 2021 free agency. But that's not really the issue, nor is Bam wanting the early extension. I believe the team still would've maxed him even if he suffered a season-ending injury, but even so I don't fault Bam for wanting to play it safe. My issue is the lack of communication from Bam. Whether the Heat were naive or not, it's clear they were expecting to extend him this 2021 offseason; it was obvious from the moves they were making, and more importantly, the moves they weren't making. Forget about the impact moves that were passed up on at the 2020 deadline, had Bam just been upfront with his intentions at the beginning of 2020 free agency then there would've been a whole laundry list of options for the Heat. Instead, the early extension came after all those options expired and it was already too late to improve the team

And I'm kinda suspicious of Bam's agent who also represents Giannis. The way the whole thing unfolded with both extensions coming in quick succession after everyone else had signed makes me wonder if there wasn't some orchestration going on here, perhaps even without Bam's full knowledge of it. I mean just look at this snek:

As what I thought. I heard that as a person Oladipo made a good impression. And it seems like there may have been already a preliminary discussion about a rehab plan and future in Miami. However financially it looks as if Oladipo will wait after Miami free agency summer is done with. Basically it will not be for a lot of money. But more of a they will see him through rehab. He will fit in where he can get in while rehabbing

I like this one. Pat signaling to Spo things are going to change one way or the other.

I'm happy to take a flyer on Dipo as a cheap reclamation project with team flexibility. I'm not happy to commit large guaranteed years and salary to him, given his injury history.

Realistically, he may need to succumb to the fact his body can't do starters wear and tear anymore. Would love him as a 25-28 minute guy off the bench, balls to the wall energy. He could be a perennial 6MOY candidate if he got his body right and accepted the role.

If you think about it. He’s the perfect backup to Herro. No brainer low cost low risk high reward signing. You stash him away in UD’s roster spot. Yeah you know the one that people say it doesn’t matter cause Spo never goes that deep anyway. Either way it sounds like he’s coming back based off our commitment to letting him rehab with us and also remember how bad Dipo wanted to be here in the first place. Let Strus be a placeholder until he gets healthy.

We’ll see. At this point I want to let Duncan walk and give Herro the keys to the starting SG spot. We need to get more dynamic in the starting lineup and we need to see once and for all if he can be that guy.
