Interesting

Damned if you do damned if you don't. If they would have put it off until summer fans would have said "look, we don't take care of our guys". Now the same fans are asking why they gave him the max.

Riley shouldnt reveal that. Those conversations should of been left between Bam and Riley. It is what it is. That information doesnt help anything.

Riley likes to send msg's through these interviews. Letting Bam know he needs to f*cking earn that money! You don't request it then disappear.

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

We’ll see. At this point I want to let Duncan walk and give Herro the keys to the starting SG spot. We need to get more dynamic in the starting lineup and we need to see once and for all if he can be that guy.

Absolutely agree. The key is getting a rock solid PG to put along side him that can create and score this offseason to take pressure off. As for Duncan i really hope we can figure out a S&T that gets us back a rotation piece instead of losing him for nothing.

Agree. The FO likely knew this was going to happen when they traded for him years ago.

Jimmy, despite the horrific playoff appearance, has been stellar for us.

I'm sure this is the right move but wish he didn't fizzle out like he did and I'd feel much better about it.

he definitely needs more help, also needs to work on his jump shot like there is no tomorrow coz teams will continually build wall around the rim against a Jimmy-Bam led team.

Get this team a little bit of extra help and some psychiatrists and see what happens.

Interesting

The only thing I find interesting is that Pat gave him a choice. We should have simply explained that we were going to hold off on the extension and why ... and not budged. Bam is a very good player, but not nearly good enough to let him take the team and it's plans hostage. He's not LeBron. He's not Wade. He's not Zo. I'm not sure he's even Bosh.

In the end we still had his Bird rights and Florida still has no state income tax.

Like I said heading into the playoffs, it's like he desperately wants to be East Conf Jokic without recognizing that the aggressive scoring is a big part of the appeal

While this is true, this should have been obvious to everyone. Of course we wanted the cap space. We didn't create it because we were fine with blowing it on our own guy before we had the chance to use it to add talent.

Why would he reveal it? Why do you think?

As what I thought. I heard that as a person Oladipo made a good impression. And it seems like there may have been already a preliminary discussion about a rehab plan and future in Miami. However financially it looks as if Oladipo will wait after Miami free agency summer is done with. Basically it will not be for a lot of money. But more of a they will see him through rehab. He will fit in where he can get in while rehabbing

That would be dumb of him. He can always accept a small deal anywhere at any time. He should see if some team is dumb enough to offer him a significant deal, and jump all over it if someone does.

Yeah you know the one that people say it doesn’t matter cause Spo never goes that deep anyway. Either way it sounds like he’s coming back based off our commitment to letting him rehab with us and also remember how bad Dipo wanted to be here in the first place. Let Strus be a placeholder until he gets healthy.

Dipo got injured playing for us. I don't think we could refuse him rehabbing in our facility on our dime.

Report is he wont be cleared to resume basketball activities until November and may not see in game action until February. He’s not getting a big deal from anybody this summer.

Feels almost certain that Kyle Lowry will be our starting PG next year. Signing a competent backup and having a solid 3rd PG not named Gabe Vincent will also be crucial.

Dragic will be our #2.

Not a bad idea really. Question is at what price? I’m under the assumption we have to renounce his rights in order to sign Lowry. As of now 19 million is a lot to be paying for a backup PG. Feel like we need to use the mid level and bi annual for other needs.

Yeah we would have to decline the team option and renounce Dragic's bird rights. But all indications are that he wants to keep playing here so they will figure it out.
