Wow...this would be the most exciting offseason since that one summer in the 90s when we got Childs, Houston and LJ. Max Kellerman's head would explode if this happened.

Any proposal that has RJ going out is not a good one to me. Dude is on the precipice of being a juiced up 3 and D guy. Those guys are crucial on title teams. You want to get rid of Obi, IQ, and maybe even Mitch in the right scenario? Fine... but RJ has to stay if you want to win titles/have any chance at long term success. You need a big bodied wing who could dribble pass shoot and defend. Look at what killed Portland over the years. Their perimeter defense was atrocious because both CJ and Dame can't defend well enough. RJ has shown the ability to be a really good defender at only 20 in addition to canning his 3's, and showing some off the dribble juice. We just watched Bullock get torched at the point of attack for 5 straight games...Don't make the same mistakes Portland did in building around Dame. You need hungry, defensive minded guys around him. RJ is a perfect fit.

Would be pretty insane... Although I'd hope to use the (entire) MLE on someone better than Bullock.

We wouldn't have the MLE I misspoke. Since we would be operating as an under the cap team to sign Kawhi outright...we would only have the room exception.

I believe he signed with the Knicks knowing the goal was to tank their first year and that he would see his second year after an offseason of significant reinforcements. The goal was Zion, KD and Kyrie, me believes.

So now what they tell him & he proudly proclaims from day one is not enough

I brought the receipts. Bring the receipts

Ok

Bro... That's the official speech for the public. It's meaningless. Do you think they would have ever admitted to tanking? Only Hinkie owned up to it, and he's practically been banished by the NBA. Their interviews were just a bunch of safe and meaningless platitudes that we hear over and over again. Mills and Perry knew exactly what they were doing. They wanted Zion. Whether Fizdale was in on the plan or actually bought into the idea that he could compete with this atrocity of a roster is fairly irrelevant.

Them talking about trying to compete ahead of the 2018-19 season was their WMDs. They wanted to be bad enough for Zion, and have two max salary slots for KD and Kyrie. That was the process. Talks of "patience", "building championship habits", "culture" and "competing" was just their cover.

They definitely tried to compete the following year, and failed so spectacularly that Mills's demotion was inevitable.

So you want me me to believe that someone who always preached competing & even forfeited our future prospects to do so, decided he was going to change his mind for one year, even when they tell you otherwise? Instead of him actually trying to win but just sucking at again, just like he always has?

Ok.

yeah in the scenario where you get Kawhi and Lillard. You would essentially need to get rid of eveyrone outside of Luka and Mitch to fit them both and release all the cap holds. Then just bring Bullock on the room exception.

I’m hoping NBA live makes a come back this year. Their last game was actually nice. 2k21 on PS5 is pretty fun but it got kinda boring after a while

I actually didn't even buy 2k last year and I didn't cop a ps5 either. First one since 2k7 I didn't buy. I started to notice that the first ones that come out in between console generations aren't that good and still have bugs to work out. But I want to jump back on board this year

NBA live has sucked for probably 15 years and when they tried to re-brand as NBA Elite it was a disaster but I do wish it would come back just to put some competition and pressure on 2k to stop putting out gambling trash every year and actually make a good product like they used to

Wouldn't be shocked if Bron was done with AD. Dude doesn't have it.

Dame for AD?

If you were portland would you accept ad for dame? I imagine you either trade dame for youth and draft picks or you dont trade him

No.

I hate AD

correct becuase if you can get it done and go over the cap. Then you can resign randle and go over the cap.

This would be the year to make the moves before we have to start paying people like Randle and Mitch. It would make sense to strike now if the opportunity is there.

The window even extends into next offseason. Mitch still has a low cap hold, RJ + IQ are on rookie deals still, Randle's cap hold goes up, but we also finally get Noah off the books so it balances out a little. Even if we dont make that big move now, we could sign 1 max cat in '22 and make a trade for another big piece possibly.

A lot of options
