I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL if someone takes another cheap shot at CP3 to try and take him out of the series.

CP3 getting cheap shot is just poetic.

That said I would rather the Suns win.

You are not THAT wrong on this take lol.

It's weird....but I want CP3 to get a ring this year (with Warriors not there).

But yeah....CP3 has spent a career inducing contact and flopping...

CP3's natural instinct at this point is to flop. But he also grabs, scratches, punches, trips, steps on feet. He's, in the nicest way possible, "scrappy".

John Stockton was all elbows and punished people and he was one of my all-time favorites. But the big difference is that Stockton essentially NEVER acted when he played. He'd stand over you, glare at you, and walk away.

It's all the acting that bugs me. The fact that it works only makes it worse.

while i agree with everything else in your post, this is just wrong. Slovenia is not a 3rd world country where they don't have the infrastructure to issue correct birth certificates :nonono:

Has Dallas seen his birth certificate or just taking his word that he's 22?

Has Dallas asked to see the birth certificates of its American players?

BTW...Luka is a top 3 player right now IMO.
Better than a fading LeBron...no doubt.
I would put him, Curry, Durant....and MAYBE squeeze in Harden (hate him but you can't ignore his offensive dominance).

Top three is a really hard one in my opinion.

If its a player that can carry a team literally by himself, I think Jokic deserves a mention. I have watched a lot of him this year and (like Curry) some of the things he does just makes you shake your head.

Harden is close but his defensive suckage disqualifies him.

That is such a tough question as, after this season, I'm not even sure it's fair to put KD over Steph in any list. Jokic/Luka would probably duke it out for that #3 spot.

Harden shouldn't touch any top 5 for the point you bring up. Incredible talent, but so is Beal or Dame and I'd probably put Embiid over both of them.

I remember all the talk about people wanting Austin Rivers for the Warriors over the last few years. In a BIG game for the Nuggets in 28 minutes he's managed 2 points, 1 rebound, and 2 turnovers. Why is he still in the NBA?

I feel a little bad for them. A little. If both teams had been fully healthy it wouldn't have been as close.

Bron loses a first round series for the first time in his career.

Lakers got down big early, got it down to 10 early in the 4th.

But CP3 executed 3 big possessions down the stretch, 2 assists and a midrange shot himseld. He kicked it out to wide open shooters for key 3 pointers. What happened to the great Lakers defense? Well a couple of times Bron didn’t run back on D.

Bron walked off the court early, didn’t shake hands, not even with his buddy Chris Paul.

Damn he shook hands of the Warriors at least 2 of the 3 times they beat him in the Finals. He that upset about first round exit?

For a player who was so hyped while in high school LeBron has more than lived up to the expectations. That said he's always done things that rub me the wrong way, and the NBA basically working for him is one of the most annoying things. He can do petulant things and the media immediately moves past it. He's changed teams 3 times always for his own advantage and gets forgiven by the media, he leaves early and gets forgiven, he refuses to talk and gets forgiven, he flops and it's ignored, he tampers and it's ignored.

Incredible player, but I don't see how the Lakers can get back into contention without him convincing some superstar to work for FAR less money than they can make. Basically Kawhi, and I don't see that happening.

Yeah there's a lot of chatter this morning.

They have to get Lillard to join Bron somehow.

Or get Lowry to sign for less.

I don't know if AD will hold up. He was injured a lot before coming to the Lakers and maybe the only reason he made it through the post season last year was that he was in the Bubble, after the NBA cut out dozens of games in the regular season, so they didn't have to play as many games. Embiid has the same problems trying to get through a whole season and then the playoffs. These big athletic players seem more vulnerable to injuries.

Definitely want to see the Clippers lose tonight, as that will weaken that team as well. But Kawhi probably stays, maybe he will prioritize being in LA and making as much money as possible, over winning more titles.

The LeBronze age is over.....thank god.

The West will be wide open next year....Warriors have a very good chance even just running back this team with Klay.

I bet the Lakers are SERIOUSLY thinking of blowing this up now.....
Maybe AD on the Warriors as a 3rd option behind Curry and Klay would work better than him as a first option on Lakers with a 37 year old LeBron?

Everyone should be looking at how to matchup with the Brooklyn/Utah/Suns/Denver/Bucks. They all have a lot of shooting all over the court
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

I think they can get rid of Schroder and Harrell's salaries. Harrell has a player option.

Schroeder is UFA.

So potentially $25-26 million in salaries off the books.

Drummon, Morris, Caruso, Matthews, Dudley and McElmore are also UFAs. So combined, that's another $10-11 million in salaries which would come off their books.

Of course, if they re-sign some of them or replace them, those salaries would go back.

THT is an RFA. He might be able to get more than a minimum deal, as he gets a lot of coverage, even if he hasn't produced high efficiency in his shooting, though he can create shots for himself.

Gasol, who's fallen out of favor, is on the books for $2.7 million next year but his salary could be used for a trade.

Let's see how active they are in the trade market or trying to sign some ring chasers in the FA market.

I wouldn't pronounce them out of the contention window like Stephen A Smith just did.
