Colin Powell is sober minded and cleared headed enough to say this.

President Trump told two senior Russian officials in a 2017 Oval Office meeting that he was unconcerned about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election because the United States did the same in other countries

It isn't the same country. One of my neighbors - who's lived in the same house for the last 55 years - is moving his family to Canada because he thinks there will be a Civil War in the US.

if the legislation was any good I'd agree. need really targeted legislation to make it impossible for state legislators to overrule their states' vote. That isn't really in there so what good would it do? I'd tell Manchin yes, this legislation is to partisan, let's simplify it

And yet not at all surprising. These are less than worthless people.

He’s ensuring that he’ll never win again by not voting for elections reform. This is about Manchin’s ego and nothing more.

I wonder what parts about HR 1 Manchin doesn’t approve of? Hmmm can’t quite put my finger on it....

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/1

Further, the bill addresses campaign finance, including by expanding the prohibition on campaign spending by foreign nationals, requiring additional disclosure of campaign-related fundraising and spending, requiring additional disclaimers regarding certain political advertising, and establishing an alternative campaign funding system for certain federal offices.

Despite it having bi partisan support.

More than 80 percent of respondents said they supported preventing foreign interference in elections, limiting the influence of money in politics, and modernizing election infrastructure to increase election security. More than 60 percent of respondents supported requiring nonpartisan redistricting commissions, a 15-day early voting period for all federal elections, same-day registration for all eligible voters, automatic voter registration for all eligible voters, and giving every voter the option to vote by mail.

You boys are about 4 years late on Manchin. He's been siding with the Republicans for years with no backlash at all from corporate democrats, but now that he's siding with the Republicans on the Democrat's precious "voting laws" (the only thing Democrats care about in regards to black people), now all of sudden he's a bad guy.

Give me a phucking break. More nonsense from the democratic party.

We don't generally make this stuff up but Golfy McBonespurs (the king of projection) makes stuff up all the time.
McHugh probably figured it was okay to behave similarly. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

It's actually a strategy of pure evil that these things commonly use. Do many horrible things, and then - with absolutely zero basis in truth - accuse your enemy of doing the exact same thing.

I'm guessing Manchin is very surprised by that - considering how red WV is. Maybe he'll soon have a "change of heart" on the issue.

This explains all you need to know good old Joe Lieber..., I mean Manchin. Him and Sinema are literally voting against their own interests? Do they think the Republicans in their states won’t steal their own elections from them? This isn’t voting for the Green New deal that will affect the economy of West Virginia this is literally voting against his own interests to keep the lobbying money flowing.
