Is what it is. I actually liked the idea of having it offset from the hockey season, but back to normal will work too.

Sucks, but it was to be expected. I was hoping we'd get a shorter season and/or one that doesn't all take place during the winter.

OP thanks for the info

I think it's better to have it in the winter. I spend too much summertime watching playoffs. It's ok at the moment due to lockout but if it was not lockout it'd suck

I'm optimistic, Canada is now neck-and-neck with Israel as the global leader in 1st doses administered and we have an insane amount of supply rolling in over June and July for 2nd doses now that Moderna shipments have joined Pfizer in full swing. All of my kids' teachers that I've spoken to fully expect to be in class in September being fully vaccinated, and I know my kids will have plenty of time to get their 2nds by that time too.

There should be zero excuses.

What a mess. The NBA cannot help themselves lately. The Olympics will ruin a lot of these plans because there is prep before and little downtime after for these athletes.

I worry about the draft for guys like Roko Prkacin, Giddey and Sengun who will have Olympic commitments. I am not even sure who is on Can and USA basketball, but for sure it will impact all of those players hugely.

This was the plan all along. The whole point of having the whole season so rushed this time around.

Gonna be a short turnaround for players playing in the finals or olympics, but I'm glad to see things returning back to normal. Can't wait for that first home game back in front of the Raptors fans in Toronto.

The vaccines have shown effectiveness against variants, essentially this pandemic is on the downturn. By September it should be over.

I made a big bet on this. Last week I booked Air Canada return tickets to Calgary in early August for me, wife + 2 kids. $1,000 all in, including taxes. Just an insane deal I couldn't resist.

Although we're booked for our second vax in August/September, I'm assuming we can move that up to before the flight. If not, AC will let me make one change to each ticket.

Does this mean no more play-in tournament?
