Round 2, Game 2 Utah Jazz vs Los Angeles Clippers

Post#1 » by Inigo Montoya » Thu Jun 10, 2021 8:52 am

Not sure if Conley is playing. PG13 wasn't good in the first game and the Clippers really need him. They should be kicking themselves for not seizing the opportunity to win game 1.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Conley is listed as questionable, grey "tossup" early this am. There are two better ratings, the light green and dark green "likely" and "very likely" ratings, that he didn't make. Some people have speculated that we might not see Conley until the Jazz lose a game. I suspect that when he does come back, it could be on a minutes restriction. I think even at 20 mpg, he could help the team.

Comments on Conley at Rotowire early this morning:

While it would obviously be terrific to have Conley back, I can't say I'm opposed to having him sit and heal if we can continue to win without his services as he will be more important in the next rounds when the guards for the Suns (who are looking amazing) roll into town. I actually think it benefits the Jazz to have Ingles guard push off rather the Mitchell.

Jazz win this game, the seeds of doubt and uncertainty will be firmly planted in the Clippers minds, who, in my opinion, except for Leonard and Beverly are already not mentally tough.

Go Jazz!!

I am very confident for the game today.

Some folk mentioned that may be we wait the first loss to bring Conley back. That is something to consider, specially if we can start 2-0 and would kind of have the luxury to lose game 3. Kind of.

Anyway he is really important and has been playing amazingly. He is the third most important piece on the team in my opinion and if we can have him back health I would love that.

Go Jazz!

Looks like Conley is out for tonight, I actually think its smart save him for that road trip to LA if he's ready to go then.

Jazz need Ingles to show up tonight its pretty certain the Clippers are going to bring it and do everything they can to limit the Jazz offensively especially DON.

Mitchell is going to see more aggressive trapping with Bev and Mann in the mix but he's clearly playing veteran ballhandler in those situations with excellent vision and passing, plus seriously, is it just me or is he getting faster on his blow-by steps? The Jazz floor spacing with him on the floor is a thing of beauty. If I'm the Jazz, I definitely hold Conley out for this one. Just not worth it and more Playoff PG Spida has proven he can handle that load and more.

No disrespect to Ingles but if he doesn't start playing better then I think his cliff is here and we should have traded him for someone more useful during the season.

Utah needs to keep TO's down again and shoot good and we should be fine. Clippers will come out trying to set a tone for the game. Jazz players should come out ready to play. I project a really solid game from both teams and Utah still coming out on top.

I really think he reinjured his wrist during the Memphis series. There was a play where he and Dillon Brooks collided and he landed on it, think it was game 2.

I'll say Jazz win 119 - 112.

This game wil be harder than the first. I expect more physicality and trapping, and I expect better games from PG and Kawhi.

Jazz need to stay aggressive, pay defense for a full ga!e, and keep turnovers down. Not missing 20 shots in a row will help.

Same "unlucky" 13 points difference after half. But of different sign....

Way to close out the half! Jazz extended the lead from 3 points to 13 points in the last 3:16. Go Jazz!
