If the Raps get the number 2 pick I'm taking Mobley, full stop, period. He's a rare player that doesn't come along in every draft and is harder to acquire than a scoring guard.

There aren't a lot of big men who can be stars in the current league that prioritizes shooting, switching, mobility, passing. To get a big who can do all that, and also play like an old school big man (rebound, block, post) is not something you can just easily walk away from.

This guy has elite size:

7 feet with a 7'5 wingspan. He's skinny at 215, but he has a good frame and should be able to add solid weight (his older brother is currently 235lbs).

Elite analytics:

29.1 PER, 13.7 BPM, 240 WS/40.

Very good makeup:

Coachable, humble, smart, hard working.

This guy is not only going to be your anchor on defense but your release valve on offense. Imagine our stifling perimeter defense with him waiting on the backend to clean up any mistakes? Look at the impact a guy like Rudy Gobert has on the entire defense. His team can be a little more aggressive knowing that not a lot of players are going to challenge him the rim. Plus Mobley can switch out onto guards and contest with his quickness and monstrous wingspan in a way Rudy cannot.

It would be nice to get a Suggs or Green, but not taking Mobley would be a mistake imo.

zach lavine? team took its time and developed. Booker? team tooks its time and developed. Donovan Mitchell? team tooks its time and developed.

Why cant we develop bouknight? what doesnt he have that these guys have.

Cade
Mobley
Green
Suggs

That's very likely the top 4 order. Then it comes down to preference. If Madais and Bobby really do their home there is a big time gem that will be available at picks 7-9.

Mitchell was the primary option on a playoff team his rookie season.

the jazz werent great, he took over for gordon and they didnt really have anyone else who would step in it kinda fell in his lap. And hes a lot better now.

If we give bouk a big role theres no reason he couldnt develop into a great scorer

Donovan Mitchell is an interesting player. Combine measurements were off the charts, some reason drafted 13th. If they redraft 2017, Mitchell would go first for me. Anyone recall why he was taken at 13th and not top5?

He'd be a 20 ppg scorer for a playoff team right away?

My point is u put mitchell in with the other 2 as "slowly developed " and thats very untrue lol. Day 1 he was given the keys. There was nothing patient about it.

Reading old draft notes, the main knocks on him was he was short and he had a hard time getting to the rim.

I'm tired of the playoffs. Draft lottery can't come soon enough.

My playoffs/draft hot take for the night is: Mobley will be the best player out of this draft just off his defense alone which is reminiscent of Gobert. The fact he has a jumper too should seal the deal on who the best prospect is

The NBA lists it as defense.

I think everyone uses the correct spelling otherwise.

Would you guys trade our current draft equity for the fifth slot in the draft?

What do you mean current draft equity? 7th plus two second rounders for 5th?

After the lottery, maybe if we believe Kuminga is better than the rest.
