It's on his left shoulder, won't impact his shooting much, if at all.

For a guy that isn't a strong shooter to begin with, I wouldn't bet on it.

I'm sure he'll be able to raise it soon enough. But contract drills - where you really get into rhythm - are out of the question.

Therapy begins quickly. Maybe no physical contact for 5 months but he should be shooting before that.

already looking forward to the "should pascal come off the bench when he returns" threads, and how we're better when he's not in the lineup.

He's saying nurse was heavily playing him preinjury. And if he got injured in his thirty somethingrh minute of a game you could make the results oriented argument that he wouldnt be injured if thibs hadn't been playing him fluke or not.
Let's playin for 9th!

Re: Pascal Shoulder surgery - Recovery 5 months
It so predictable and almost comical how quickly this board goes into full PANAC mode due to every little bit of news. This is an indictment of management? We should be preparing to tank next season already? Full tear down of the team because Pascal might miss 5-10 games? Hilarious. That's good material.
And for those asking why he didn't get surgery sooner, it's likely because surgery is usually the last option players and doctors want to take - because of the recovery time, but also because even the most routine surgeries carry risks. They probably gave it a few weeks to see if it would be able to heal fully on its own, and then conducted some tests and discovered that it wasn't going to do that, so opted for the surgery. This is all par for the course.
Is it unfortunate that he won't be starting the season 100% healthy? Of course, but it's something that most teams deal with at some point or another with key players, and it shouldn't have a massive effect on the outlook for the season. Also, there might be a silver lining. The team will have a full training camp figuring out how to score when Pascal isn't on the court. That could pay dividends when he comes back, if they don't feel like they need to put him in situations to force his offence upon his return.

Some people will claim that he may have gotten injured because of the overuse during meaningless games. Sucks regardless.

All season long, people have been btiching about how bad Pascal was, and now Pascal being shelved for the next 5 months people area ready to tank next season.

Something is off with the Pascal and Team/Management relationship. This whole thing seems weird to me and is another example of crossed lines of communication between Pascal and the team.

Injury occurred May 8th and surgery performed the first week of June. Absolutely nothing wrong with the timeline.
Some of you are just miserable looking to blame Pascal, Nurse or management

Injuries happen.
Doesn't matter if you play 2 minutes or 40.
I'm sure all Raptor fans wish Pascal well and hope he has a speedy recovery.
5 months from last week is two weeks into the season.
Looking forward to next year's championship run.
Let's go Raptors!
