Man, everybody is getting traded, "you get a trade, you get a trade, EVERYBODY GETS A TRADE!" Poor kemba has been sent out for a box of rocks or a box of rocks with sprinkles.
NAME ON THE FRONT OF THE JERSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(!)

Clippers' point guards are god awful outside of Rondo, they have no assets...could see Pat Bev/Morris or Kennard for Kemba swap if the Celtics give up draft capital. Clippers really have no other way to add talent since they gave away all their firsts for Kawhi/PG, Ballmer has the money.
Clippers might have no choice honestly unless Rubio or someone is available, Pat Bev has been an absolute joke this year and outside of Rondo, they have no one who can play point at even a replacement level

kemba+grant for morris+beverley is not terrible.
morris is an upgrade over gwill, gives us toughness which we lack and his contract is tradeable. beverley is an expiring, and he can back up smart/pritchard. saves us 8m in cap space next year.
i don't think the big 3 of kawhi/pg13/kemba is winning anything but they don't have a lot options to get better.

Re: Trade Thread 2021-22: To Trade Or Trade Not
and if the clips flame out again, could pg13 be available?
he's got 4/180 left on his deal. kawhi is a FA, and may bolt. kemba's 2 yr deal might actually look attractive to get out from pg13's deal. give them a FRP since they will need to rebuild, plus romeo or nesmith or gwill. they badly need young talent.
his contract is a risk for us since he will be 35 by the end of it, but at least he appears to be healthy and playing at his usual level. he gives us 3 big wings who can defend multiple positions at a high level and score 20+. maybe as a 3rd option he would not struggle so much in the playoffs.

PG 13 would certainly be available for Jaylen Brown, but not for Kemba, even if you added #16 and either Nesmith or Langford.

Only "draft capital" celtics would have to give is at MOST a second.
Kemba for Beverly and Kennard.
Then we can use Kennard, a S&T Fournier, or Romeo or Nesmith to upgrade other spots as we would be very heavy on wings
Smart/Beverly/Pritchard
Fournier/Kennard/Romeo/Edwards
Brown/Nesmith
Tatum/Parker/GWill
Timelord/Thompson/Kennard
Beverly is $14,320,987 expiring
Edwards is $1,782,621
Romeo is $3,804,360
Total combined salary of the 3 is 19,907,968.
*125% +100K is 24,984,960. - That is the amount those 3 guys combined can bring back in a trade.
Guys that might be on the block for cap savings/youth and or future picks
Brogdon
Hield
Barnes
Turner
Rubio
Adams
Gallinari
Murray
Prince
Beasley
The Clipper deal is a great deal as it would set up potential future moves

Kevin Love is a worse contract than Kemba, so maybe this is where Boston can attach the 16th pick and another asset to Kemba??
I love Sexton.
Reports differ in Cleveland. Some suggest he should be traded so they can pay Allen, but I don’t see them getting rid of him that easily.

You don't trade Jaylen Brown for a 31 year old player that has failed in the playoffs everywhere he has gone. PG is very overrated at this point in his career in my opinion.

If Stevens was ever to make that trade ie brown for PG id demand his head on a platter. God awful trade.
It’s not just your opinion it should be everyone’s opinion

Think Washington might look to move Westbrook?
KEmba plus salary for Russ, I would do that.
The spacing we would have with Evan, and the Jays would prevent teams from sagging on Russ, I could see both his efficiency go up and his assists per game be around 15.
Sign or trade for a 3andD center and team would be cooking
Westbrook
Fournier
Brown
Tatum
Center
be fun to watch

Of course you don't. That's why PG 13 is a completely unrealistic target for the Celtics. But... we all should be rooting for Utah to sweep the Clippers, so that maybe Kemba for Morris, Beverly and filler becomes a realistic possibility. I'm not interested in Kennard because he's not that good and his salary goes up to 14-15M for the next 4 years. I don't like any players you have to hide on defense.

Agreed, but I'm not so down on Kennard as you.
He did average 16/4/4 and has always been a plus shooter and solid playmaker. Still 24 years old. Lazy comparison but maybe a smaller Fournier? He was a lottery pick for a reason.
I wouldn't do backflips, but if Fournier becomes too expensive I could see the upside and Kennard still has plenty of time and ability to turn into a very solid role playing guard.

Re: Trade Thread 2021-22: To Trade Or Trade Not
Another team to watch for in a kemba trade is Chicago,.
Last year of Lavine, picks traded for Vooch. if They dont at least make playoffs they will run a high risk of losing LAvine for nothing in the offseason next year.
Kemba is a good buy low opportunity and can create a playoff worthy trio between Lavine, Vooch and himself. If Lavine walks then a real good chance Kemba does to which would leave them with massive capspace.
Kemba and Edwards to Chicago for White, Aminu and Thad young
White/Pritchard
Smart/Fournier/Romeo
Brown/Nesmith
Tatum/Young/Parker
Timelord/Kornet
Aminu 10.1 mill expiring
Thompson 9.7 mill expiring
GrantW 2.6 million
Combined the three can return a salary of up to 28 million if packaged and traded
Plenty of centers this offseason that would fit fine as the backup
Perhaps a follow up of
Aminu, Thompson and Grant WIlliams and #16
for
Hield, Wright and Bagley
White/Pritchard/Wright
Smart/Hield/Romeo
Brown/Fournier/Nesmith
Tatum/Young/Parker
Timelord/Bagley/Kornet

So another summer of me pining for Rondo's return slowly approaches?
Kemba for Rondo, Beverley and Ibaka (he probably takes his option) works in trade machine. Just saying.

Walker and Satoransky to Houston (saves 19 million immediately, saves 35ish million next year if KEmba opts IN)
Wall to the bulls (running mate for Zach, better defender than Kemba)
White, Aminu, Wood to Boston
Boston adds 2 starters and an expiring
White/Pritchard
Smart/Fournier
Brown/Nesmith
Tatum/Aminu
Wood/Timelord

Re: Trade Thread 2021-22: To Trade Or Trade Not
I find all these Kemba rumors over the last week extremely amusing. All the counter reporting saying "Kemba is happy, he didnt ask for a trade" especially so. Boston isnt shopping him because he's unhappy, they are shopping him because he is massively overpaid, the teams salary structure is crippled by his contract, and we need to find a better fit than a score first PG next to the Jay's. Like even if he wants to stay the c's SHOULD still try to move him.
I will say tho it would help if he did want to go, because it would make it more likely he'd wave his trade kicker.
