Basketball gods really rubbing salt in the wound with the CP3 and Kawhi news this morning. This season is going to be such a missed opportunity.

100% Has any player on the bucks roster ever tried to challenge the coaches?
Even Lowry during the Raptors championship run would bump heads w/ Nurse and run his own plays if he didn’t like the play call.
Ur team needs a legit alpha, and CP3 would have made everyone on the roster better.

I don't think there's really any reason to think Giannis defending KD would have been a good idea. When it was Tucker on Durant, they just hit him with moving screens until he was taken out of the play and Durant could just attack the help defense. When it was Khris, Jrue, Pat, etc., he just attacked one on one.

With Giannis, they certainly would have treated him like PJ, just forcing him to go over screens until one of them finally took him out of the play and he isn't great at going over screens to begin with.

Best case scenario, nothing changes; Durant keeps attacking the help defense and keeps scoring. Worst case scenario, Giannis fouls out earlier than he ultimately did.

I think we could have tried to send a double from Harden and just see if he can make a shot, but other than that, I don't think there's much schematically that we could have done.

We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas!

Durant, repeatedly and on consecutive possessions drove right on Tucker and easily got around Lopez who was playing close to the basket. Nothing was done to force the ball out of his hand. Lopez' only role was to potentially alter shots. The remaining three Bucks, two of whom were named first-team All Defense and another regarded as a plus-defender, were reduced to bystanders.

This is my safe zone. I can't consume anything sports right now (except Euros). This is the only place on the internet I feel safe and understood. With that said...

Woke up this morning and remembered that one play in the 4th where Giannis was clapping at Jrue for quite some time for the ball only to then bulldoze his way to an offensive foul. I legit didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Why do some people want Giannis to guard KD? I don't think he can stay with him on the perimeter without picking up dumb fouls. What am I missing?

bucks need a floor general big time. been saying this for years. none of their "facilitators" are good passers. They can't post brook up because it takes 10 seconds just to get the entry pass in. they have a tough time running pick n roll because outside of midds noone can thread a needle. they throw lobs off the top of the backboard cuz noone is great at throwin lobs. brook could easily avg 20 vs this team but they can't get him the ball. They don't even try to get him involved. it's pathetic.

I dislike Budenholzer unhealthy amounts.

It hasn’t gotten better after sleeping on it.

Lmao what’s the point in even referencing other teams? The team we are **** playing lost Harden 43 seconds into the series for the 1st 4 games and just lost Kyrie for the rest of the series and we couldn’t even capitalize on that. We let 1 player embarrass our entire team 3 out of 5 games so far... lmao and you guys are worried about the rest of the way? We’ve already squandered an absolute golden opportunity.
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis

Durant can play 48 minutes a game the rest of the way and still as look as fresh as a daisy. This is because he plays smart and takes breaks on the court, while still acting as a decoy attracting defenders. I kept saying to myself early in the 3rd quarter, it's not a good sign that Durant is sort of hanging back and not getting much involved. Of course we all know what happened afterwards. On the other hand, Giannis can average 36 minutes a game, but still look gassed at the end. He has no clue how to reserve energy while still on the court. He wants the ball in his hands all the time, even if dribbling in circles and exerting precious energy for no reason.

I used to think if we traded Middleton for another semi superstar we could go to the next level. However, I think Middleton is the only guy Giannis trusts to take over games besides himself late in the game. If Middleton goes, good luck getting the ball out of Giannis's hands in the last 5 minutes of close games. If Chris Paul was here, Giannis would likely grab a rebound, look at Chris and then decide to bring the ball up himself.

I think the logic is essentially that nothing else worked so why not, but there's really no reason to think Giannis could have defended him better than the others were.

I think what will wind up happening is Durant making a couple of tough contested shots and then Giannis getting frustrated and committing a dumb foul.

I'm 100% sure Giannis would have gotten called for fouls just trying to get over the screens.

After sleeping and working a few hours this morning I’m not even mad. I figured this would happen. This team for 3 years completely choked every time the pressure is turned up. I’ve never seen a superstar get rattled so bad like giannis does. His free throws and his routine are a complete joke. Fumbles a pass that would have tied the game easily.

Brook is unplayable in this series but we constantly Trot him out to guard a three point shooter only to have him stand on the perimeter on offense. Giannis, all mvp and last years dpoy stood in the corner guarding a scrub while a player his size torched us for 50. Just a joke
